Nowadays, product recalls have become an inevitable problem striking companies and manufacturers. If no sufficient preparation is made, product recalls can easily affect the bottom line. The objective of this paper is to analyse product recall notices and identify major issues of recall such as types of recalled products, causes of recall, recall initiators, and the relationship between products, recall initiators and causes of recall. This research provides an in depth analysis of recalls patterns through content analysis of historical recall notices.Analysis shows most food items are recalled due to manufacturing fault, for electrical appliances major causes of recall are design fault, and kids' products are recalled due to design and manufacturing faults, and for all types of products most recalls are initiated by the manufacturer. The result of this research will help manufacturers look at the root causes of recall and find solution to the quality issues of product design and manufacturing. This research can be further extended to incorporate data from various countries.
Electric vehicles can be a solution to certain social problems in Indonesia, such as pollution and an increase in consumption of energy from fossil fuels, which cannot be met by domestic production. The discussion of the TPB theoretical model, UTAUT2, and risk perception, using the structural equation modeling (SEM) method, in this study aims to provide an overview of the factors that drive interest in adopting electric vehicles in Indonesia. Data were collected from 526 respondents in various cities located in Indonesia. The results showed that the model can estimate the study variables adequately. The constructs of TPB such as attitude toward use (ATU), subjective norm (SBN), and perceived behavior control (PBC) positively affect interest in using electric vehicles. Meanwhile, ATU is influenced by performance and effort expectancies, hedonic motivation, price value, as well as functional, financial, and social risks. Another factor, known as PBC, is influenced by certain facilitating conditions. The ATU factor is the most influential on the use of electric vehicles, therefore factors such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, hedonic motivation, price value, functional risk, financial risk, and social risk need to be properly analyzed.
We report new data from medium-high grade metamorphic rocks found at the northern margin of the Lengguru Fold Belt in West Papua. The study involved a systematic analysis of cross-cutting structures to establish the relative timing of deformation, together with isotopic dating to define when these tectono-thermal events occurred. These data show that the region underwent multiple episodes of deformation within the last six million years. Metamorphic mineral growth was associated with the development of ductile shear zones. This episode occurred during a phase of crustal stretching associated with the formation of a metamorphic core complex. Metamorphic zircon growth at 4.9 to 5.3 Ma was documented in two of the dated samples. These data are interpreted to postdate the peak pressure and temperature conditions of the phase of regional crustal stretching. The shear fabrics associated with the metamorphic core complex were later overprinted by at least two generations of folds. The change in mode from crustal extension to shortening reflects a tectonic mode switch. A subsequent mode switch is documented by numerous brittle extensional faults that cross-cut the earlier formed ductile fabrics. We interpret ca. 0.75-1.51 Ma (U-Th)/He age data to reflect cooling associated with the later stages of crustal shortening (marked by folds) or the later extensional unroofing of the peninsula. This work demonstrates that an orogen can record multiple tectonic mode switches within several million years. These outcomes should be considered in studies of ancient orogens where analytical uncertainties associated with isotopic dating may mask short-lived mode switches.Plain Language Summary How much time is required for a mountain belt to develop? Our knowledge of mountain building is somewhat limited because many of the best-studied mountain belts are quite old and our ability to date tectonic events is less precise the farther back we look through time. The work presented here investigates a mountainous peninsula that developed at the northern margin of the Australian Plate within the last six million years. This region records multiple episodes of deformation-we show that the relatively young rocks have been stretched, then pushed together and then stretched again (much like an accordion). These cycles must occur over a period of one to two million years, which is very fast compared to numerous studies of ancient mountain belts that consider the same processes occur over tens of millions of years.
Digital signatures have been widely and primarily used for document approval activities during the Coronavirus pandemic in Indonesia. This is the digital equivalent of a handwritten signature or stamped seal, although it provides more inherent security, such as validating the authenticity and integrity of a message, software, or virtual document. Therefore, this study aims to determine factors affecting consumer intention in using digital signatures based on (i) the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2, (ii) the theory of planned behavior, and (iii) the information acceptance model. A total of 358 respondents answered the online questionnaire containing 69 question items, with the data analyzed using the structural equation modeling technique to examine the hypotheses. The results showed that the relationship between consumers’ attitudes, perceived behavioral control, subjective norms, and information adoption had the highest and lowest effects on consumers’ behavioral intention. Moreover, the consumers’ attitudes had the most significant effect on their attitudinal intention to use digital signatures. The significant positive impact of these consumers’ attitudes had relevant implications for the sustainable adoption of the signature system. This indicated that an integrating model with the potential of extending to consumers’ intention analysis was established for digital signature adoption in other countries after the post-Coronavirus period.
