The assessment process did not end by only making questions. They will arrive at the analysis of the questions quality. Item analysis is performed to determine the quality of the questions items arranged. Good quality items will greatly affect the results of the assessment and properly capturing the results of learning. The instrument analuzed was made in the form of 20 items of multiple choices with four answer option. The instrument was validated by the content expert and estimated the reliability by using the KR-20 method by reliability index of 0.75 obtained. The data analysis technique used ITEMAN software to see the characteristics of items that contain the level of difficulty, discrimination power and disctractor’ function. The results showed that 80% of the difficulty level were in the medium category, 90% of the dircrimination power items were in the good category, and 90% of the distractors had well-fuctioned. After successfully compiling a good career plan related to their professional work in the future, students are expected to realize these career plans successfully. For this reason, students need to be equipped with other abilities in the form of self-efficacy or the ability to believe that the efforts made will produce results and goals that are expected to be achieved. Therefore, through appropriate career counseling intervention, the self-efficacy of students in achieving an ideal career is expected to increase. This study aims to examine effectiveness of career counseling based on H.B Gelatt's decision theory to improve student self-efficacy in achieving an ideal career. This study uses quasi-experimental methods. The research subjects were third years students in UPI Serang. The research instrument used was a student self-efficacy scale and a daily reflective journal. Data analysis techniques used statistical testing in the form of percentages, central symptom measures, and two-tier test (t-test). The results showed that students' self-efficacy related to achieving an ideal career in general was in the medium category with a percentage of 50.72%. The counseling intervention program is based on the career decision making steps of Gelatt. Paired t-test results of pre-test and post-test of the experimental group showed that t arithmetic = 10.221> (greater) than t table = 2.401, testing was carried out at a = 0.05 and df = 39, meaning H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. Thus, there is a significant difference between self-efficacy related to achieving the ideal career of students who are members of the experimental group before and after receiving treatment. Decision-making skills in particular are very influential on improving the level dimension in student self-efficacy related to achieving an ideal career. Keywords: career counseling, career counseling in college, career self-efficacy, Gelatt decision-making theory

This study aims at analyzing difficulties, identifying the support and needs of lecturers in academic writing, also lecturers’ perceptions toward the potential of the MBKM program to strengthen academic writing activities during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study employed a quantitative approach with historical survey methods and a descriptive study design. The data were collected utilizing multiple-choice questionnaires and descriptions along with Focus Group Discussions (FGD) activities. The subjects of this study were 45 lecturers from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Serang Campus and Universitas Banten Jaya. The data were analyzed interactively based on theoretical propositions which were divided into 2 cases, namely opportunities and challenges with 4 aspects of discussion, such as difficulties, support, needs, and potential for the MBKM program. The results showed that most of the lecturers experienced difficulties in funding as well as the skills to express ideas and find suitable sources even though their productivity was still quite good. The institutional support in terms of funding and referral sources is still there however the number is decreasing. Nevertheless, language training and facilitation are prominently required. The lecturers’ need to support their academic writing activities is writing training and collaboration across departments as well as study programs. Their activeness in participating MBKM program correlates with their writing productivities also in lecturers’ exchange activities and collaborative research as well. The number and activities in academic writing need to be elevated to help productivity in academic writing during the Covid-19 pandemic. The MBKM program has the potential to accommodate these requirements.
