Si una persona física quiere estrenar ropa, la ropa es física, la adquiere en tiendas, la porta sobre su cuerpo y la percibe con todos sus sentidos. Con la moda digital aplicada a imágenes y videos de personas físicas, esta división es cada vez más permeable.En el confinamiento, la práctica del vestido cambió drásticamente. La compra se limitó en gran medida a la experiencia audiovisual que daban las tiendas en línea. Pero, ¿para qué comprar si no hay ocasión, lugar y personas donde mostrarlo? Por ejemplo, en las video llamadas o video conferencias, sólo se muestra la parte superior del talle, dando la posibilidad de omitir el arreglo de la ropa en la parte inferior del cuerpo, permitiendo combinaciones que presencialmente habrían sido imposibles.Sin embargo, las prácticas sociales establecidas en el sistema moda, sobre todo en las poblaciones jóvenes y de un poder adquisitivo medio y alto, consistían en una alta variación en el vestido acompañado de un registro digital de la ocasión en redes sociales. De manera que había un doble encuentro social a través de la identidad presentada en el arreglo personal, uno físico y otro digital, cada uno con sus propias reglas e interacciones.La continuidad de este impulso social de la moda, de cambio, novedad, distinción y reconocimiento encontró uno de sus cauces a través de la moda digital. Casas de moda 100% digitales o híbridas, encontraron la oportunidad de impulsarse al dar posibilidad a la moda a través del estreno, mostración e interacción social por medios digitales.
