Payung Kertas Village located at Pandanwangi Village, on the bank of the Bango river. The preliminary research showed that the environmental care behavior of residents of the riverbank area is to be low considering. Many residents choose to throw garbage directly in the river, construction residential houses in the Kali Sari watershed, and several indicator of the lack of environmental awareness of watershed residents. Awareness-raising will be easier to do when activities are started, designed, and carried out by communities with social problems. The aims of this community service is to empower communities to solve social problems. The formation of environmentally conscious communities is carried out through a tiered process by encouraging active citizen involvement. The method used in the fomation rof environmental care communities is carried out with a social intervention approach that utilizes action research. Social change is carried out by emphasizing three stages namely the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. As a result of this community service, a community caring for the environment was formed with the first movement in the form of sorting waste from inside the house, synergizing with waste transport officers, and periodically monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the environmental care movement.
Victims of natural or humanitarian disasters sometimes resist aid offered to them, resulting in slower recovery among victims, and feelings of rejection among aid offerers. We present two studies conducted in Indonesia that investigated motives for spurning offers of humanitarian aid. Both studies showed that beliefs in developed countries’ conspiracies lead participants to see humanitarian aid as guided by strategic rather than prosocial motives. Perceived strategic motives in turn enhanced aid resistance, whereas perceived prosocial motives decreased resistance. Conspiratorial beliefs and aid resistance were positively predicted by national collective narcissism (Study 1) and intergroup conflict (Study 2). Together, these findings show that humanitarian aid resistance arises from the recipients’ beliefs in malignant intentions of the providers.
Indonesia and Taiwan are two countries that have been affected by the tourism sector, although with different policies to control the COVID-19 pandemic. Taiwan is known as a country with pandemic policies that have been recognized around the world, although it has a high vulnerability to experiencing a high number of infections due to its geographical and political position close to the source of the pandemic. On the other hand, Indonesia is known for its controversial pandemic management and control policies. Indonesia and Taiwan have carried out various public policies to increase tourism activities during the pandemic, such as accelerating vaccination in tourist areas and for tourists, as well as various other stimuli to stimulate tourism. The debate over vaccination raises questions about attitudes toward vaccines in society. The lack of clarity on psychosocial and political conditions creates confusion among the public in perceiving the COVID-19 pandemic and in perceiving the risks of traveling. This can affect people's attitudes toward vaccines, travel anxiety, and travel intentions. This study aims to analyze traveling intention due to the COVID-19 pandemic through COVID-19 Risk Perception, Fear of COVID-19, Risk Perception to Travel, Vaccine Attitude, and Fear to Travel. The research in Indonesia involved 358 respondents while the research in Taiwan involved 283 respondents. The research analysis used multiple regression and simple linear regression to ascertain the role of each association. The results showed that the travel intention of Indonesian tourists was formed from the direct and indirect roles of covid 19 risk perception, fear of covid 19, risk perception to travel, vaccine attitude, and fear to travel. Meanwhile, the travel intention of Taiwanese tourists is not influenced by a fear of covid. The travel intention model of Taiwanese tourists is formed from the direct and indirect roles of covid 19 risk perception, risk perception to travel, vaccine attitude, and fear to travel. This research contributes to tourism risk management in the face of pandemics, particularly in terms of government policies that can reduce tourism anxiety to travel during disasters.
This study aimed to investigate whether trait rumination has a role in individual's structure of current affect, specifically on valence and arousal dimension. Within-subject experiment design was used as a study design which involved eighty-one undergraduate students of Department of Psychology, Universitas Brawijaya as participants. Images from International Affective Picture System (IAPS) were used to evoke participant's affect and measured by Self Assessment Manikin's (SAM) rating while trait rumination was measured using Ruminative Response Scale (RRS). Statistical analysis using one-way repeated measures ANOVA technique found that trait rumination has a significant role in participant's structure of current affect on relation between valence stimulus and rating valence (F=5.276, p<0.01) but has no role on relation between arousal stimulus and rating arousal (F=0.753, p>0.05).
Firehose of falsehood is a propaganda technique that has used in the political world. This propaganda is used by presenting hoax news/hoaxes in public awareness continuously until the public believes the news. The community more easily and quickly accepts media news anywhere and anytime because the public has direct media access to grasp. In contrast, the literacy and rechecking of news content are often not done due to time constraints and the emotional content of newsreaders. Information media believed to be one of the sources of increasing distrust in the election organizers, namely the KPU, this has been sharpened by various incidents and phenomena throughout the election which were noisy and caused a commotion in the community. This study aims to explore people's attitudes towards HOAX news on trust in the KPU. The research method uses quantitative with a survey approach to 558 voter respondents through the distribution of Trust research scale to KPU and attitude scale towards hoaxes. Data analysis of this research using multiple linear regression. The results study indicate there is a role for attitudes towards hoaxes towards trust in the KPU in Indonesia.
