One of the characteristics of early childhood is to have a strong sense of enthusiasm and curiosity towards many things around it. Curiosity can be raised using the media. Media is a means of learning that can bring the interest of students to learn because the media is everything that can be used to channel the message, stimulate the mind, attention, and willingness of students to be involved in the learning process. The series image media has a sequence of images that can stimulate the child's mind to speak and produce a continuous story. The purpose of the study explains the media of this series can increase the students' interest to speak so that the ability to speak early child is increasing. The research method used in this study is literature review is a series of activities related to the method of collecting data library, reading and recording and managing research materials. Research results obtained by using a series of drawing media can develop the potential for child speech development and increase vocabulary mastery.
ABSTRAKSalah satu karakteristik anak usia dini adalah memiliki rasa antusias dan ingin tahu yang kuat terhadap banyak hal di sekitarnya. Rasa ingin tahu tersebut dapat dimunculkan dengan menggunakan media. Media merupakan sarana pembelajaran yang dapat memunculkan minat siswa untuk belajar karena media merupakan segala sesuatu yang dapat dipergunakan untuk menyalurkan pesan, merangsang pikiran, perhatian, dan kemauan siswa sehingga dapat terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran. Media gambar seri memiliki suatu urutan gambar sehingga dapat merangsang pikiran anak untuk berbicara dan menghasilkan cerita yang berkesinambungan. Tujuan penelitian menjelaskan media gambar berseri ini dapat meningkatkan minat siswa untuk berbicara sehingga kemampuan berbicara anak usia dini semakin meningkat. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kajian pustaka yaitu rangkaian kegiatan yang berkenaan dengan metode pengumpulan data pustaka, membaca dan mencatat serta mengelola bahan penelitian. Hasil Penelitian yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan media gambar seri dapat mengembangkan potensi perkembangan berbicara anak dan menambah penguasaan kosakatanya. Kegiatan membaca memberikan dampak positif khususnya bagi anak sekolah dasar, namun pada umumnya masih sering ditemukan masalah yaitu sulitnya menumbuhkan minat baca pada anak tingkat sekolah dasar. Dari beberapa penelitian menunjukan bahwa sangat sulit untuk menumbuhkan minat siswa dalam memahami sebuah bacaan (wacana) yang ditemukan dalam buku bahasa Indonesia. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut perlu diadakan usaha peningkatan kegiatan pembelajaran khususnya dalam memahami isi bacaan. Adapun proses pembelajaran yang bisa digunakan yaitu dengan cara menerapkan model peta pikiran (Mind Mapping) yang mampu menarik perhatian dan minat siswa, mendukung kegiatan siswa dalam menemukan pokok-pokok pikiran dalam wacana sehingga siswa mampu memahami isi bacaan dari wacana tersebut. Mind Mapping (peta pikiran) merupakan suatu metode pembelajaran yang dirancang untuk membantu siswa dalam menentukan dan menyusun inti dari bacaan. Oleh karena itu dengan penerapan model peta pikiran (Mind Mapping) bisa dianggap sebagai cara alternatif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa siswa terutama didalam hal pemahaman membaca wacana di sekolah dasar

This research was motivated by the importance of teacher's role in understanding students’ characteristics such as learning styles. This research was aimed to describe the teachers' understanding on students’ learning styles, learning profiles, services provided by teachers, problems faced by teachers, and teachers' efforts in solving difficulties of providing services on students’ learning styles at SDN 020 Ridan Permai. This research used a qualitative approach specifically descriptive design. The research finding showed the teachers of 2nd, 3rd. 4th, and 5th grade at SDN 020 Ridan Permai already understood the students' learning styles theoretically. The teacher's learning profile to facilitate students’ learning styles was quite good, but it still needs to be improved by using more varied learning methods, as well as providing relevant learning media. Based on the 15 aspects observed, teachers of 2nd and 3rd grade have implemented 13 aspects, 4th grade teacher have implemented all aspects, and 5th grade teacher have implemented 12 aspects. In addition, the teacher’s difficulties were rarely to use proyektor in the learning process, adversity in facilitating students’ learning of auditory styles, adversity in managing time, and students might not understand the subject matter fully. The efforts’ made by teachers in solving the obstacles faced in providing services to student learning styles include being disciplined on time, learning from previous experiences and keeping up with the times, increasing insight of students’ learning style differences, bounding collaboration among teachers, students and parents and add further information which was relevant.
