O método tradicionalmente aplicado para o ensino-aprendizagem na disciplina de anatomia pode ser incrementado com o uso da tecnologia da impressão tridimensional (3D) que contribui e aprimora a qualidade da aprendizagem, oferecendo ao estudante um extenso e replicável banco de dados com riqueza de detalhes no formato tridimensional. A bioimpressão tem um importante papel também na prática clínica, como por exemplo, no desenvolvimento de próteses e estudo das variações anatômicas. Dessa forma, o presente trabalho analisou a importância da impressão 3D no processo ensino-aprendizagem, e avaliou sua aplicação na prática clínica. Foi realizada uma revisão de literatura, baseada em estudos publicados entre os anos de 2016 e 2022 pertinentes aos termos (DeCS/MeSH) “3D Printing” e “Anatomy”. Em relação a aplicabilidade da bioimpressão na anatomia, os modelos anatômicos podem ser usados para fins educacionais e treinamento médico. Quanto a prática clínica, existem diversas aplicações na medicina dentre elas destacam-se os modelos anatômicos para planejamento pré-operatório, investigação médica e implantes. Ressalta-se a importância de se desenvolver novas metodologias e materiais a partir da produção de modelos feitos por processos de modelagem digital e disponibilizar esses conhecimentos aos estudantes e aos médicos, beneficiando, diretamente, a população.

A produção de modelos a partir da impressão 3D é uma técnica extremamente inovadora para ser utilizada nas práticas de ensino. Além de replicar as peças já existentes no laboratório de anatomia, pode produzir outras peças baseadas em casos clínicos registrados a partir de exames de imagem, de forma detalhada. Assim, o presente estudo relata as aplicações técnicas da impressão tridimensional no ensino da anatomia das doenças cerebrovasculares. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, baseado em uma revisão integrativa da literatura, utilizando artigos que abordaram o tema, encontrados a partir de buscar por estudos com os termos MeSH “three-dimensional printing” e “cerebrovascular diseases”. Nos cursos de ciências da saúde, a utilização de modelos tridimensionais vem sendo cada vez mais comum. A construção de peças 3D pode ser usada como ferramenta para uma maior compreensão do paciente a respeito de sua condição, para melhorar o planejamento pré-operatório e ainda o ensino de técnicas cirúrgicas de alta complexidade, como nos procedimentos terapêuticos de malformações arteriovenosas e aneurismas cerebrais. Além da utilização da impressão 3D no processo de ensino aprendizagem de residentes e acadêmicos, os modelos tornaram-se uma ferramenta bastante eficaz no aumento da compreensão dos pacientes quanto as doenças cerebrovasculares.
O uso de peças 3D avança num sentido mais amplo da educação, em direção a interdisciplinaridade. Diversas áreas já utilizam essa tecnologia para ensinar a comunidade acadêmica, até pesquisas mais complexas como a impressão de órgãos, e aplicações do design em próteses. A tecnologia atual permite a impressão precisa da anatomia cardíaca em materiais que se assemelham as propriedades reais do coração e dos vasos, permitindo explorar opções, desafios e possibilidades da impressão 3D no campo das valvulopatias, a fim de dar uma visão sobre o estado atual da arte e o desenvolvimento nesta área especificamente. Dessa forma, o presente estudo descreve as potencialidades no processo ensino-aprendizado, no que tange a estenose aórtica, utilizando as metodologias Hands-on e os modelos produzidos numa impressora 3D. Foi realizada uma revisão integrativa da literatura utilizando os termos MeSH: “3d printing” e “aortic stenosis”. O advento da tecnologia de impressão 3D é capaz de criar modelos físicos anatomicamente precisos e específicos para o paciente, convertendo imagens 3D virtuais na tela plana do computador em modelos 3D palpáveis adequados para simulação intervencionista, permitindo uma redução no tempo cirúrgico. O uso dos modelos impresso em 3D pode facilitar o desenvolvimento de novos dispositivos e novas técnicas cirúrgicas. Todavia, as limitações desse modelo esbarram ainda no alto custo, na qualidade de imagem do exame e no tempo para impressão.
