El libro es una adaptación de una investigación presentada a la Universidad Nacional del Altiplano, cuyo objetivo fue evaluar la eficacia del programa Vaso de Leche en la provincia de Puno, Perú, desde la perspectiva de las beneficiarias, considerando a las mismas como unidad de análisis. La investigación es cuantitativa de alcance descriptivo, carácter explicativo y de tipo no experimental transversal. La técnica que se utilizó para la recolección de datos fue la encuesta y como instrumento se aplicó el cuestionario, construido a partir del reglamento del propio programa. La población total considerada fue de 4309 beneficiarias y producto del muestreo aleatorio simple se encuestó a 353 beneficiarias. Se halló que el 57,51% de beneficiarias encuestadas indican que la filtración en el programa está bien, el 56,94% está a favor de la cobertura del programa; como también el 58,36% de las beneficiarias consideran que el programa es eficaz. Se concluyó que se requiere de un proceso de fiscalización continuo del Programa Social Vaso de Leche en la provincia de Puno, para que su eficacia se mantenga en los mismos niveles.
La investigación tuvo como objetivo general determinar la influencia del área de relaciones comunitarias en la responsabilidad social de una empresa minera en la prevención de conflictos sociales mineros, en el distrito de Pichacani – Puno, Perú. La población de estudio estuvo conformada por 4476 habitantes, se aplicó un muestreo aleatorio simple, determinando 354 habitantes del referido distrito. Se siguió un enfoque cuantitativo con el fin de valorar las perspectivas de la población a través de la técnica de la encuesta. Se identificó factores que propiciaban los conflictos: 1) demora en la entrega de documentos técnicos del proyecto; 2) retrasos en pagos por la utilización de tierras; 3) incumplimiento de compromisos por parte de la empresa minera. Se identificó también que la frecuencia de ocurrencia de conflictos está entre siempre y a veces, pero la mayoría de estos son rápidamente solucionados en reuniones programadas. Se concluye que no existió nunca una convivencia amigable por los constantes conflictos, aun así, los pobladores consideran que estos conflictos no tienen impactos relevantes ya que son solucionados rápidamente y califican su representación en reuniones como positiva.
En los últimos años los Estados de América Latina han concertado acuerdos y estándares regionales e internacionales para abordar la violencia contra las mujeres, pero, a pesar de tener importantes avances, este flagelo sigue siendo una amenaza para los derechos humanos, la salud, la seguridad ciudadana, la libertad política y económica de las mujeres en la región. Por esta razón se hace necesario adoptar medidas públicas que ayuden a mitigar y/o eliminarla violencia contra la mujer. El propósito de esta investigación fue identificar las políticas públicas en materia de violencia contra la mujer en Latinoamérica. Se aplicó el método de análisis documental, con un enfoque cualitativo, diseño no experimental, con un nivel documental bibliográfico transversal. Como resultado, se observó que la violencia contra la mujer en América Latina ha incrementado en los últimos años, debido a factores políticos, sociales y económicos en la región, así como la emergencia sanitaria por COVID-19. Se concluye que, aunque el Estado implementa políticas públicas encaminadas al tratamiento de la violencia contra la mujer, estas no han logrado disminuir los índices de violencia, por el contrario, han ido en aumento.

La investigación siguió un enfoque cuantitativo, tipo descriptivo, carácter explicativo y de tipo no experimental transversal. La unidad de análisis fue la filtración, cobertura y eficacia del Programa Vaso de Leche, mientras que la unidad de observación fue la población beneficiaria del Programa. La población total considerada fue de 4309 beneficiarias y producto del muestreo aleatorio simple se encuestó a 353 beneficiarias. Se halló que el 57,51% de beneficiarias indican que la filtración en el Programa está bien, el 56,94% está a favor de la cobertura del Programa; como también el 58,36% de las beneficiarias consideran que el Programa es eficaz. Como conclusión, se puede afirmar que el programa es eficaz en sus criterios de filtración, cobertura y atención de los beneficiados.
El trabajo tuvo como objetivo identificar las percepciones de los pobladores sobre la prevención de desastres naturales en centros poblados urbano-rurales en el distrito de Pomata – Puno, Perú. La metodología siguió un enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental de corte transversal. La población de estudio fueron 168 jefes de familia, seleccionando a 118 por muestreo aleatorio simple; la recolección de datos se realizó aplicando la técnica de la encuesta bajo el instrumento del cuestionario. Se logró identificar las percepciones que tienen los pobladores sobre prevención de desastres naturales como: conocer las rutas de evacuación, conocer las zonas de riesgo y las zonas seguras, tener una cultura de prevención, participar en los simulacros, contar con un combo de supervivencia, y tener mayor información de los medios de comunicación sobre prevención en desastres, con el fin de evitar calamidades, disminuir los daños y reducir al mínimo los riesgos en la población. Además, para esta variable se halló un coeficiente de P ,092, existiendo una correlación positiva muy fuerte en consideración a los conocimientos, opiniones y expectativas.
