Hospitality Study Program of Bali State Polytechnic as vocational education institution always strives for the quality to fulfill the desired competence of the user (tourism industry). This study aims to analyze the student’s competence of Hospitality Studies Program in the user. Through this analysis it is expected the management able to take the solution in order to improve the competence of the graduates. The study was conducted on student’s semester VI who have been training in tourism industry. The sample was determined 107 people, using confirmatory factor analysis. The results showed that the three factors are attitude, knowledge, and skill had a significant influence to the achievement of the students' competency. The most dominant factor determining student competence is skill factor, followed by knowledge factor, and then an attitude factor. Thus, it is suggested to the management to emphasize the attitude factor in providing education and training at the campus in order to win an increasingly competitive competition. To the lecturers, especially the lecturers of professional ethics subjects, it is expected to further improve the discipline and attitude of the students so that they can fulfill the competence according to the expectations of the user.Keywords: Analysis, competence, student, userAbstrakProgram Studi Perhotelan Politeknik Negeri Bali sebagai lembaga pendidikan vokasi selalu berusaha agar mutu lulusannya mampu memenuhi kompetensi yang diinginkan pihak pengguna (industri pariwisata). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kompetensi mahasiswa Program Studi Perhotelan di industri pariwisata. Melalui analisis ini diharapkan pihak manajemen Program Studi Perhotelan mampu mengambil solusi guna dapat meningkatkan kompetensi lulusan. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap mahasiswa semester VI Program Studi Perhotelan yang telah dan sedang melaksanakan on the job training di industri pariwisata. Sampel penelitian ditetapkan sebanyak 107 orang, dengan menggunakan confirmatory factor analysis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga faktor baik faktor attitude, knowledge, maupun skill memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap pencapaian kompetensi mahasiswa Program Studi Perhotelan. Faktor yang paling dominan menentukan kompetensi mahasiswa adalah faktor skill, disusul faktor knowledge, dan selanjutnya adalah faktor attitude. Dengan demikian disarankan kepada manajemen Program Studi Perhotelan Politeknik Negeri Bali untuk lebih menekankan pada faktor attitude dalam memberikan pendidikan dan pelatihan di kampus Politeknik Negeri Bali guna mampu memenangi persaingan yang semakin kompetitif. Kepada para dosen Program Studi Perhotelan terutama dosen pengampu mata kuliah etika profesi, diharapkan lebih meningkatkan disiplin serta sikap/attitude mahasiswa sehingga mampu memenuhi kompetensi sesuai harapan dari pihak pengguna (industri pariwisata)..Kata kunci: Analisis, kompetensi, mahasiswa, industri pariwisata
The research aims to test the influence of environmental knowledge on tourist intention to visit tourism village mediated by social and emotional values. Data are collected through questionnaire and data collection result is tested using confirmation factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM). The research result suggests that social values and emotional values mediate the influence of environmental knowledge on tourist intention to visit green tourism village. The result provides contribution to environmental management theory as a foundation in promoting tourism destination areas. The research could be further elaborate through mediation addition of price and quality of the green tourism village.
: Purpose: This research paper discusses the implementation of Tri Hita Karana in the development and management of traditional Balinese homestays in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. Research methods: The qualitative research which data are obtained through observation, literature study, and in-depth interviews with several informants, namely observers of Balinese cultural tourism and owners and managers of homestays in Ubud. Findings: Traditional Balinese homestays in Ubud are buildings where local residents live in the form of umah "pondok" or new buildings that are prepared for tourists. They are built with a traditional Balinese architectural model that refers to the Tri Mandala and Tri Hita Karana philosophy that reflect the harmonious relationship between humans and God (parahyangan), humans and each other (pawongan), and humans and their environment (palemahan). Implications: The existence of traditional homestay in Ubud that are able to support the sustainability of tourism development in Bali needs to be maintained.
Vegetarian cuisine is increasingly becoming a trend in society, starting with many people realizing the importance of living a healthier lifestyle to changing their lifestyle to becoming vegetarian food connoisseurs. The purpose of this research is to analyze marketing strategies for vegetarian food for the millennial generation so that their food products can be accepted and enjoyed. This research is descriptive qualitative through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of data collection. The study reveals that differentiated marketing strategy is including the organizational environment within the organization which is normally a potential target market for the millennial generation. It is further suggested that product mix, price, distribution and promotion channels are regarded as the marketing mix strategy.
Tujuan: Studi ini bertujuan membahas bentuk kerukunan Umat Islam-Hindu di Kampung Loloan, Jembrana, Bali, dan pendidikan multikultural dalam kehidupan masyarakat setempat. Metode penelitian: Data penelitian diperoleh melalui kajian pustaka, observasi dan wawancara dengan pemerhati budaya Bali dan tokoh masyarakat Kampung Loloan. Hasil dan pembahasan: Bentuk kerukunan itu antara lain tercermin dalam kuatnya tradisi menyamebraya yang diwijudkan dalam bentuk silaturahmi, saling ngejot, pemakaian bahasa Loloan atau bahasa Melayu-Bali, serta kerjasama dalam pangan kehidupan sosial dan ekonomi. Kerukunan dan kehidupan multikultural dalam kehidupan masyarakat Kampung Loloan diperkuat dengan adanya model pendidilkan multikultural yang meliputi lima dimensi: menyadarkan generasi penerus tentang arti peting multikulturalisme; meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang keragaman budaya; menanamkan sikap toleransi, menumbuhkan sikap solidaritas (kerjasama) antar-umat; dan menanamkan sikap cinta damai. Implikasi: Proses sosialisasi dan enkulturasi nilai-nilai kerukunan kepada generasi berlangsung secara formal (di sekolah dasar dan menengah), semangat menyamebraya juga dipraktikkan langsung dakan kehidupan sehari-hari masyatakat Kampung Loloan, Jembrana.
