Resumo. Em 2018, o governo brasileiro lançou mão das Forças Armadas para administrar abrigos e gerir o crescente fluxo de migrantes venezuelanos/as na fronteira norte, estado de Roraima. Justificada enquanto missão humanitária, a Operação Acolhida, com sede em Boa Vista, revela os paradoxos de um duplo comprometimento entre acolher e manter a ordem. Por um lado, militares organizam abrigos, distribuem comida e doações e, por outro, seguem protocolos que exigem a vigilância e controle sobre os corpos e documentos. Com base em pesquisa de campo, com visita aos abrigos militarizados, o artigo aborda as políticas que circunscrevem as novas práticas; os critérios que legitimam a intervenção militar na gestão do acolhimento; as críticas da sociedade civil organizada; e algumas implicações desse processo para as políticas migratórias no Brasil.
Resumo O recente deslocamento de venezuelanos/as para Boa Vista-RR vem sendo observado segundo diferentes perspectivas. Um aspecto ainda pouco explorado é o da alimentação. A maioria desses migrantes procura desempenhar alguma atividade produtiva que gere renda para comprar comida e enviar aos familiares na Venezuela. Sujeitam-se a condições precárias de trabalho e vida. As relações sociais envolvidas na circulação dos alimentos nos convidam a refletir sobre a mobilidade humana. Dar comida, receber e comer junto configuram relações assimétricas e simétricas, com brasileiros/as ou entre venezuelanos/as. O artigo enfoca a agência dos/as venezuelanos/as nessas situações. Podem ser provedores de lares distantes, comensais que se vêm como iguais, e pets ou presas do capitalismo brasileiro.
Resumo. O artigo apresenta comparação entre dois processos migratórios distintos, com base nas relações de parentesco e nas metáforas sobre família. A pergunta, "quem é da família?", é respondida em diálogo com os novos estudos de parentesco na Antropologia e, sobretudo, enfocando as concepções e obrigações de família presentes entre viajantes alternativos radicados no interior de Goiás e entre trabalhadores brasileiros nos garimpos na Venezuela. Pode-se dizer que pessoas se colocam em movimento atendendo alguma transformação ou necessidade de transformação. Alternativos sonham com um novo estilo de vida e os garimpeiros com trabalho e riqueza. Nos casos em tela, as famílias, cada uma a seu modo, assumem centralidade, uma vez que são percebidas enquanto causa e efeito da condição de mobilidade.Palavras-chave: parentesco, mobilidade, trabalho, estilo de vida.
