Tradisi gerep ruha (gerep=injak ruha=telur) merupakan salah satu tradisi masyarakat Manggarai yang wajib dilaksanakan sacara turun temurun, dari sejak nenek moyang masyarakat Manggarai. Pentingnya tradisi ini adalah untuk pembersihan pengantin wanita dari adat istiadat atau kebiasaan dari kampung asalnya. Semua adat istiadat dan kebiasaan dari kampung asalnya akan ditinggalkan dan dia akan mengikuti adat istiadat atau kebiasaan dari suaminya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejarah dari tradisi gerep ruha di Desa Tenda, tahapan dalam tradisi gerep ruha, dan makna simbolik dalam tradisi gerep ruha. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dan lokasinya terletak di Desa Tenda Kelurahan Tenda Kecamatan Langke Rembong Kabupaten Manggarai. Sumber data didapatkan melalui sumber data primer serta sumber data sekunder. Proses pengumpulan datanya dilaksanakan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan pada teknik analisis data, peneliti menggunakan konsep Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu; pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi/penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini, yaitu sejarah tradisi gerep ruha, dan makna simbolik tradisi gerep ruha yang terdiri dari makna simbolik dari ruha manuk kampong (telur ayam kampong), saung ngelong (daun ngelong), gong, gendang, dan tange (bantal).
