The present study was designed to investigate the influence of Moringa oleifera on Laying Hens Performance, β-carotene, cholesterol, and minerals contents in egg yolk. Two hundred and forty 30 weeks of healthy laying hens with homogeneous body weight in a complete randomized design with four treatments and 6 replications. Laying hens were randomly divided into four groups: M0: diets without administration of Moringa oleifera leaves, M1: diets with 2% Moringa oleifera leaves; M2: diets with Moringa oleifera leaves 4%; and M3: diets with 6% Moringa oleifera leaves, respectively. Each treatment consisted of six replication cages with 10 birds randomly assigned to each cage. This study showed that administration of the Moringa leaves powder were increased significantly different on egg productions, egg mass, feed efficiencies, yolk color, shell thickness, Mg and Ca contents in eggshell, but not the efficiency of feed consumption. The administration of 2-6% Moringa leaves powder in diets results in significantly lower yolk cholesterol contents. It was concluded that supplementation of 4-6% Moringa leaves powder in diets, increased egg production, egg mass, feed efficiencies, yolk color, shell thickness, β-carotene, Mg and Ca contents in the yolk, but decreased yolk cholesterol contents in laying hens.

The research objective was to know growth and profile of blood of local rabbit (Lepus nigricollis) fed fermented coffee skin in different levels. There were 80 animals used in the research; the design used was Randomized Block Design with five treatments and eight blocks (replicates). Treatments used in the research were a diet without coffee skin called diet control (R0), 10% coffee skin (R!), 20% coffee skin (R2), 10% fermented coffee skin (R3) and 20% fermented coffee skin (R4). Results of the research showed that erythrocyte and hematocrit of the animals fed diet R3 were better (P < 0.05) than R4, R2, R1, and R0. There were no significant different (P < 0.05) among treatments R0, R1, R2, R3 and R4 to leucocytes of the female animals. Blood cholesterol of the animals fed diet R4 was the lowest (P < 0.05) than other treatments. The animals fed diet R3 resulted in feed consumption, final body weight (on the age of 17 weeks) and weight gain higher (P < 0.05) thanR4, R2, R1, and R0. The different levels of coffee skin used in the research were not affect significantly feed conversion value. It could be concluded that growth rate and profile of blood of the female animals fed 10% fermented coffee skin were better than other treatments.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui performans kelinci jantan lokal (Lepus nigricollis) yang diberi ransum dengan kandungan energi termetabolis berbeda. Percobaan dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan empat perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah: ransum dengan kandungan energi termetabolis 2200 K.kal/kg (R1), 2500 K.kal/kg (R2), 2800 K.kal/kg (R3) dan 3100 K.kal/kg (R4). Ransum dibuat iso protein dengan kandungan protein kasar 16%. Kelinci yang dipergunakan adalah kelinci jantan lokal lepas sapih dengan umur 4-5 minggu. Variabel yang diamati adalah koefisien cerna bahan kering, efisiensi perubahan GE menjadi DE, berat badan akhir, konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat badan dan konsumsi air minum. Tidak terjadi perbedaan yang nyata (P>0,05) pada perlakuan ransum terhadap variabel koefisien cerna bahan kering, efisiensi perubahan GE menjadi DE dan konsumsi air minum. Kelinci yang mendapat perlakuan ransum R1 menghasilkan berat badan akhir paling rendah yang berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan R2, R3 dan R4. Konsumsi ransum pada kelinci yang mendapat perlakuan R1 paling rendah yang berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan R2, R3 dan R4. Kelinci yang mendapat perlakuan R3 menghasilkan pertambahan berat lebih tinggi (P<0,05) daripada R2 dan R1 namun perlakuan R3 berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) dibandingkan dengan R4. Nilai konversi ransum pada kelinci yang mendapat perlakuan R1 paling tinggi yang berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan R2, R3 dan R4. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ransum dengan kandungan energi termetabolis 2800 K.kal/kg (R3) menghasilkan performans lebih tinggi daripada 2200 K.kal/kg (R1), 2500 K.kal/kg (R2) dan 3100 K.kal/kg (R4).

This study aims to learn the effect of giving betel leaf extract (Piper Betel L.) on the production and quality of broiler carcasses. The experiment design used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and ten replicates, with two broiler aged 2 weeks. The treatments were broiler chicken given drinking water without of betel leaf extract as control (A), broiler gave 2% extract of betel leaf water through drinking water (B), and broiler gave a 4% extract of betel leaf water through drinking water (C). The variables observed in this study were performance, digestibility of nutrients, total stool bacteria. The results showed that the granting extract of betel leaf through drinking water showed no significantly different (P>0,05) on ration consumption, drinking water consumption, body weight gain, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), body initial weight, final weight, percentage carcass, percentage meat, percentage fat and skin, bone weight, meat born to, digestibility of dry matter, digestibility of protein and digestibility of energy but significant difference (P< 0.05) of carcass weight, Total Plate Count (TPC), coliform, and E.Coly.

Research about the performance of local rabbit fed different level of concentrate based on   Daucus carota L.was conducted for 12 weeks at Dajan Peken Village, Tabanan District, Tabanan Regency. The research design used was Randomized Block Design with 5 replicates. The animals were allocated randomly into 4 treatments i.e. control ration carrot leaf (Daucus  carota L.) (R0), control ration with 10 g concentrate/head/day (R1), control ration with 20 g  concentrate/head/day (R2) and control ration with 30 g concentrate/head/day (R3).  Daucus carota L. and drinking water offered ad libitum. Results of the research showed that performance of the animals fed control ration with 30 g concentrate/head/day (R3) was higher  (P < 0.05) than that R0 (control) and other treatments. Carcass weight, meat, and fat of the animals fed ration R0 was lower (P < 0.05) compare to treatment R1, R2, and R3. There was no significant difference (P >0.05) to variables of carcass weight, bone weight, and meat bone ratio among R0, R1, R2, and R3 percentages. It could be concluded that the animals fed Daucus carota L. as basic ration that was supplemented with concentrate 30 g/head/day produced higher performance and carcass compare to the animals supplemented 20 g/head/day and 10 g/head/day.
