Infeksi protozoa gastrointestinal masih menjadi faktor yang sering mengganggu kesehatan ternak sapi bali. Prevalensi infeksi protozoa gastrointestinal dapat bervariasi karena dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, salah satunya adalah faktor kondisi lingkungan. Faktor lingkungan yang berpengaruh terhadap prevalensi infeksi protozoa saluran cerna meliputi perubahan iklim, suhu lingkungan, kelembaban udara, ketinggian suatu wilayah, curah hujan, dan kondisi lahan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui prevalensi dan identifikasi infeksi protozoa gastrointestinal sapi bali yang dipelihara secara semi intensif di wilayah lahan basah dan kering berkapur di Kabupaten Badung, serta hubungan kondisi lahan suatu daerah terhadap prevalensi infeksi protozoa gastrointestinal. Sampel penelitian yang digunakan sebanyak 182 feses segar sapi bali, dimana 75 sampel berasal dari Kecamatan petang sebagai lahan basah dan 107 sampel berasal dari Kecamatan Kuta Selatan sebagai lahan kering berkapur. Feses diperiksa dengan metode pemeriksaan feses rutin secara apung menggunakan zat pengapung gula Sheather. Hasil penelitian didapatkan prevalensi infeksi protozoa gastrointestinal di Kabupaten Badung adalah 78% (142/182). Berdasarkan perbedaan kondisi lahan, prevalensi pada lahan kering berkapur 78,5% (84/107) lebih tinggi dibandingkan lahan basah 77,3% (58/75), tetapi secara analisis statistik tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Jenis protozoa gastrointestinal yang ditemukan adalah Coccidia sp., Entamoeba sp., dan Balantidium sp. dengan prevalensi secara berurutan 58,8%, 52,7% dan 10,4%. Hasil penelitian menyediakan informasi dasar tentang protozoa gastrointestinal pada sapi bali dengan sistem pemeliharaan semi intensif pada wilayah lahan basah dan kering berkapur di Kabupaten Badung.
