Mit der Entwicklung der chemisch gekoppelten PTFE‐Polyamid‐Materialien (PTFE‐PA) steht eine neue Werkstoffgeneration für tribologische Einsatzgebiete zur Verfügung. Es werden Ergebnisse zum Materialsystem eines chemisch gekoppelten PTFE‐PA‐6.6 vorgestellt, in dem die sehr guten Material‐ und Verarbeitungseigenschaften des PA‐6.6 mit den Gleiteigenschaften des PTFE kombiniert sind. Die Herstellung erfolgt über reaktive Extrusion auf einem Doppelschneckenextruder unter Polyamidverarbeitungsbedingungen. Die Besonderheit dieser Materialien ist das sehr gute Reibungs‐ und Verschleißverhalten. Im Mittelpunkt stehen die Einflüsse der Verarbeitung, d. h. der Ver‐ und Zerteilung der PTFE‐Mikropulver in der PA‐6.6‐Matrix und der Feuchteaufnahme der PA‐6.6‐Matrix auf die tribologischen Eigenschaften. Es konnte gezeigt werden, dass keine wesentlichen Unterschiede festgestellt wurden, ob das PTFE‐Mikropulver mit einer wenig scherenden Schneckenkonfiguration in eine PA‐6.6‐Spritzgusstype (niedrige Schmelzeviskosität) oder mit einer stark scherenden, intensiv mischenden Schnecke in eine PA‐6.6‐Extrusionstype (hohe Schmelzeviskosität) eingearbeitet wird. Eine weitere wesentliche Aussage ist, dass der Feuchtegehalt des Materials keinen Einfluss auf die tribologischen Eigenschaften hat.
