Conhecimentos populares e arquetípicos (mitos, crenças, heranças culturais) cujos valores remetem aos anuros podem influenciar o aprendizado, a aceitação e conservação destes animais. Através de entrevistas semi-estruturadas identificou-se que a imagem de “anfíbio”, e conceitos de sua importância e valorização ecológica eram compostos, essencialmente, pelas experiências vividas e pelos conhecimentos construídos desde a infância, tendo como base principal mitos e medos inconscientes. A análise dos discursos e das expressões facias em resposta a fotos demonstrou que tanto homens quanto mulheres apresentam medo em proporções semelhantes. Em conclusão, a emoção e afetividade interferem no aprendizado e preconcepções do ser humano e o arquétipo negativo criado para os anfíbios anuros mistifica-os, desmotivando o aprendizado e prejudicando a conscientização pela sua conservação.
