O processo de internacionalização das universidades brasileiras vem se desenvolvendo a partir de ações que envolvem a mobilidade acadêmica de discentes e docentes em diversos países. Na universidade de São Paulo, os acordos com as Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) francesas têm um impacto na demanda por cursos de língua francesa visando à preparação linguística, acadêmica e intercultural dos participantes dos diferentes programas de intercâmbio. Nesse contexto, o Programa Idiomas sem Fronteiras-Francês tem um papel decisivo para a formação em Francês para Objetivo Universitário (FOU), para a elaboração dos programas e da metodologia de ensino (MANGIANTE, PARPETTE, 2011). O objetivo deste artigo é discutir como o IsF-Francês pode contribuir para a formação da comunidade universitária para a mobilidade acadêmica e quais são os caminhos para a expansão da internacionalização na Universidade de São Paulo.
