ObjectiveThe objective ofthis study was to assess the association between thyroid hormone (TH) levels in follicular fluid (FF) and serum and to determine whether THs impact assisted reproductive technology (ART) outcomes.MethodsThis study enrolled 299 women undergoing ART. Blood samples were drawn on the day of human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG) administrationand analysed for thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), thyroxine(T4), triiodothyronine(T3),free T4 (fT4),free T3(fT3), thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb) and thyroglobulin antibody (TGAb) levels. FF was obtained on the oocyte pick up (OPU) day and analysed forTSH, T4, T3, fT4, fT3, TPOAb, TgAb and estradiol levels.Results(1) There were significant positive correlations between serum and FF TH and thyroid autoantibody levels. Statistically significant differences were discovered in serum and FF levels of TSH (p ≤ 0.001), T4 (p ≤ 0.001), T3 (p ≤ 0.001), TPOAbs (p ≤ 0.001) and TGAbs (p = 0.021).(2) Serum T4 levels [121.9(104.8,140.8) vs 114.1(98.6,130.6) nmol/l, p = 0.026], serum fT4 levels[(19.0(17.7,21.8) vs 18.6(17.0,20.1) pmol/l, p = 0.026], serum T4/T3 ratios [62.5 (55.7, 66.2) vs 59.4 (53.4, 64.9), p = 0.029], FF fT4 levels [19.0(17.5,21.3) vs 18.1(16.8,19.9) pmol/l, p = 0.009] and FF T4/T3 ratios [52.6 (46.4, 57.3) vs 50.0 (43.7, 53.1), p = 0.004] were significantly higher in the successful pregnancy group than the implantation failure group.(3) Spearman’s rank correlation analysis revealed positive associations of both the FF T4/T3 ratio and serum TSH levels with the numbers of retrieved oocytes (total or MII) and embryos (fertilized, cleavage, and good quality).ConclusionsTH levels in FF are strongly correlated with those in serum on the HCG day, and THs on the HCG day may affect ART outcomes.

We present a case of serious liver and kidney damage due to incorrect use of Salvia plebeia in a patient with a history of thyroid tumorectomy, who was successfully treated for poisoning with blood purification and systemic, comprehensive critical care.Case Report:A 54-year-old female patient with salvia intoxication combined with multiple organ dysfunction was transported to our emergency center by ambulance after presenting with nausea, vomiting, and skin yellowing. On arrival, she exhibited fatigue, dizziness, lightheadedness, yellowish discoloration of her skin, breathing difficulties, and low back pain, all of which was suggestive of salvia intoxication combined with multiple organ dysfunction. The treatment strategy was to immediately speed up the excretion of toxins and administered blood purification therapy. She also displayed disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), which was successfully treated with plasma infusion of blood coagulation factor combined with LMWH acupuncture therapy.Conclusions:Salvia plebeia should only be considered for use in patients who have infectious disease or oxidative stress related disease and only at an appropriate dose. In addition, for patients with salvia poisoning, prompt administration of blood purification therapy and systemic comprehensive measures involving multiple supportive therapies can save such patients.
Objective Accessory renal artery (ARA) is a common variant of renal vessels. Currently, there are some controversies about reconstruction strategy and few cases reported in the literature. Individualized treatment should be carried out according to preoperative renal function evaluation and technical level. Methods In this paper, a 50-year-old male patient was reported, who developed a dissecting aneurysm after thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) and needed further intervention. Imaging showed that the left kidney was supplied by bilateral renal artery (false lumens), and there were left renal malperfusion complicated with abnormal renal function. Results Autologous blood vessels were used to successfully reconstruct ARA with during hybrid surgery. Renal perfusion and renal function recovered rapidly after operation. There was no abnormality in renal indexes after 3 months follow-up. Conclusion It is beneficial and necessary to reconstruct ARA for patients with renal malperfusion or abnormal renal function before operation.
According to the characteristics of ultrasonic guided wave inspection, An exciting power, used for exciting ultrasonic guided waves in pipeline is designed based on DDS and FPGA. The excitation source consists of FPGA, D/A conversion circuit, a low-pass filter circuit and power amplifier circuit. Constructing DDS based on FPGA as the controller and signal generator. Filter circuit and power amplifier circuit are designed in this paper. The experiment results show that the excitation source can have high voltage and high frequency output capability, and can generate desired signal type with a good accuracy to fit the requirements in practice. It can be conveniently used for pipeline ultrasonic guided wave detection.
