considerando achados avulsos e conjuntos de objetos (depósitos) em bronze do Bronze Final conhecidos na bacia do rio Ave (NW de Portugal), são propostas algumas interpretações articulando essas materialidades com o povoamento, a orografia e a hidrologia. Por questões práticas, estes foram incluídos em distintas “categorias”.Na ausência de provas inequívocas de relação entre estes materiais e povoados, parece prevalecer a sua “aproximação” a certas caraterísticas naturais (orografias, cursos de água ou nascentes), percebidas no âmbito de uma forma animista de inter-relação com o mundo, prática quiçá iniciada durante o Bronze Médio.

New interpretations to a selected set of “hoards” of palstave axes with two rings from the North-western Iberia are proposed. This task was based not only on morphological study of these objects but also on their spatial contexts of deposition. The morphological (dimensions and weight) variations observed among the objects of a same deposit allow us to consider its formation by unique and individual objects. This reveals the use of different casting molds and alloys and, hypothetically, distinct production origins. At the same time, the distribution of different sets appears to have relations with natural circulation corridors (rivers basins and ridges areas). These were routes known and used since long ago, which certainly promoted more than occasional encounters between distinct human groups.

A Rota de Arte Rupestre do Noroeste é um projeto que pretende explorar as potencialidades da arte rupestre do NW de Portugal enquanto recurso passível de desenvolvimento de uma prática turística sustentável. O NW português é uma área rica em arte rupestre de ar livre de cronologia pós--paleolítica, em especial do estilo designado de Arte Atlântica, específico da área. Além do seu inegável valor científico, o caráter estratégico deste recurso patrimonial deveria integrar programas de desenvolvimento e de organização do território. Para que tal se concretize há que colmatar carências ao nível da investigação, tais como a compilação e sistematização dos dados que promovam o avanço do conhecimento científico e, simultaneamente, propiciem discursos atrativos para o público em geral.O projeto tenciona aprofundar a investigação da arte rupestre segundo perspetivas arqueológicas e antropológicas, contribuir para salvaguardar este património arqueológico e promover a sua valorização na fachada ocidental no NW de Portugal, por forma a que se possa criar o produto turístico sustentável "Rota de Arte Rupestre do Noroeste". Visa, ainda, rentabilizar o património "intangível" ligado a estes recursos, os recursos humanos das parcerias envolvidas no projetoe incrementar o desenvolvimento sustentável do território abordado. Serão divulgadas as ações já materializadas e/ou em vias de materialização, bem como os resultados atingidos para diferentes áreas do NW. The Portuguese NW is rich in open--air post--Palaeolithic rock art, especially from the designated Atlantic Art, specific from the area. Along with its scientific value, its strategic character should integrate programs of territory development and organization. In order to achieve that, some scientific needs have to be overcome, like data compilation and systematization, promoting scientific knowledge and allowing attractive discourses to general public.The project intends to deepen rock art research according to archaeological and anthropological perspectives, to contribute to its protection, and to promote its valorisation in the western façade of Portuguese NW. Ultimately, it pretends to create the sustainable touristic product "Northwest Rock Art Route". It also aims to transform its related "intangible" heritage in something profitable, so as the involved project partnerships human resources, and increase the sustainable development of the addressed area. The materialized and/or in process of materialization actions will be presented, so as the different achieved results from each NW area.

Este trabalho pretende dar a conhecer parte dos dados resultantes da escavação arqueológica do sítio da Quinta do Amorim 2, freguesia de S. Victor, concelho e distrito de Braga, Noroeste de Portugal.Durante os trabalhos de acompanhamento arqueológico da construção do Novo Hospital de Braga (NHB), o achado de um perfil de um vaso quase exclusivo de contextos funerários (largo bordo horizontal – forma 13c de Bettencourt, 1999) e de um fragmento de outro vaso de tipologia semelhante, posteriormente seguido da identificação de uma sepultura plana, durante os trabalhos de escavação impostos pela tutela, confirmam a importância do local no âmbito das práticas funerárias da Idade do Bronze. A estrutura escavada incluía uma terceira forma 13c, recolhida em contexto primário, cujas aderências orgânicas permitiram uma datação radiométricaRecorrendo a analogias com contextos coetâneos onde surge este tipo de indício (ALMEIDA & FERNAN-DES 2007, 2008; ALMEIDA et al. 2008; SAMPAIO et al. 2008; BETTENCOURT 2010) equaciona-se a hipótese de estarmos perante uma necrópole da Idade do Bronze Médio que combinou a tumulação de indivíduos com a deposição de materiais cerâmicos.

This work reports the data which has been recovered from the excavation of Sector II of Pego. Among other kinds of evidence, that area encompasses traces of funerary practices dating back to the Bronze Age.Based upon the local’s choice, the structures’ architectonic features, their interrelations, materials associated and strati-graphy and in the carbon dating results available we have proposed different uses and occupation phases.Although certain materials reflect human presence during later periods, the frequency of that area denounce three occu-pation moments datable from between the Middle Bronze Age and the Late Bronze Age. These moments are consistent with the construction of a plain grave’s necropolis, probably forming familiar clusters, a hypothetic pits’ necropolis and, prior to the abandonment of the area, an “enclosure”.Given the interpretations presented we have discussed the possible relation between the local, certain physical charac-teristics and the presence of funerary practices. As a work hypothesis we consider those relations as fundamental for the places’ choice. Alongside with other evidence of difficult interpretation and, perhaps, in the context of new senses meanwhile acquired by this place, these data form part of this place’s biography.
