Phosphorylation of theanine (Thea) has been achieved using inorganic cyclo-triphosphate (P 3m ) in aqueous solution. The optimum condition for the phosphorylation of Thea with P 3m is Thea : P 3m = 2.0 M : 0.5 M, pH 11 and 10 ºC. N 2 -(Phosphono)theanine was synthesized with the yield of more than 90 % and then remained constant after 40 d without hydrolysis of the monophosphate derivative. The phosphorylated product of Thea has a N-P bond in the molecule. The reaction mechanism of Thea with P 3m was discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
