Viver diante de uma possível catástrofe. Vivenciar a catástrofe. Foi assim que muitos de nós nos sentimos em meio aos acontecimentos decorrentes da pandemia de covid-19. A falta de responsabilidade com que o Governo Bolsonaro lidou e vem lidando com a pandemia continua sendo um dos principais obstáculos. A população não teve suporte eficaz para viver dignamente os momentos de isolamento, tendo que se arriscar cotidianamente. O aumento abusivo dos preços em itens básicos e comuns aos brasileiros vem se estendendo e se intensificando. A demora na compra das vacinas e do início das vacinações condenou diversas pessoas à morte. A política do Governo na pandemia vem sendo uma política de morte e extermínio. O lema do presidente pode ser resumido basicamente como "salve-se quem puder".Nossas formas de viver e estar no mundo tiveram que ser reestruturadas e reinventadas nesses últimos anos. A Antropologia e o "estar em/no campo" também sofreu os abalos. Além de pesquisar, produzir textos, construir etnografias, tínhamos que fazê-lo à distância, apenas com a ajuda de redes sociais, telefonemas, mensagens. Tivemos que continuar fazendo Antropologia mesmo em meio a notícias e acontecimentos aterrorizantes. Tivemos que viver, sobreviver e continuar existindo em meio a uma catástrofe sem precedentes, experienciando momentos inéditos. Em meio a isso, como cada pesquisador(a) vivenciou seus diferentes campos durante o período de pandemia? Como esses momentos interferiram em nossas vivências e nos processos de imersão que costumeiramente vivenciamos? Essas perguntas nortearam muitos dos textos e debates realizados no novo número da Equatorial -Revista do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Antropologia Social da UFRN referente aos meses de janeiro a junho de 2022.
