Covid-19 pandemic could increase forms of malnutrition such as overweight and micronutrient deficiencies. Fruits and vegetables are the best sources of vitamins and minerals. The content of vitamins and minerals can act as antioxidant compounds. The method used in this service activity consists of the planning stage, the implementation of the activity, and ends with an evaluation as a measure of the level of success. Health education is carried out by means of lectures and question and answer sessions, educational media using leaflets and PowerPoint Presentations. Results: the evaluation shows that the activities have been carried out well in accordance with the results indicators and criteria on the Evaluation Sheet instrument. The sheet is based on five dimensions, namely Punctuality and Duration, Participation, Knowledge, Job Description and Problem Solving. The content of the evaluation is carried out by two independent observers.
Cancer is a chronic disease that reduces the quality of life of the sufferer. High stressors and low coping due to disease prognosis, therapy management, and minimal social support, have an impact on poor psychological conditions. Therefore, we need complementary therapies such as yoga that is easy, cheap, and can be done independently. Yoga practice increases oxygen supply and relaxes muscles and joints which can increase hormonal work which is beneficial for the body physically and psychologically for cancer patients. Objective: This study aims to explain the effectiveness of yoga on increasing QoL (Quality of Life) in cancer patients. Research data were identified from 5 journal databases including PubMed, JSTOR (Journal Storage), Wiley Online Library, Sage Journal, and Taylor & Francis Online using the PIOS (Participant, Intervention, Outcomes and Study Design) method and MeSH term on advanced search engines. Articles that become research data are articles published in 2006-2020 in the English version, open access, and in full text in the original research article form. A total of 3050 articles were found, a screening process was carried out using the Prisma Protocol to eliminate articles that did not meet the criteria. This literature review study found 16 articles that prove that the use of yoga interventions can improve the quality of life of cancer patients. Cancer patients are advised to do self-care in the form of Yoga to improve their quality of life. Advanced research will need to compare the feasibility between yoga and different intervention.
Introduction: As many as 1 billion people in the world or about 1 in 4 adults suffer from hypertension. Many people with hypertension still ignore their disease, even though if left untreated it will lead to further complications. This is because knowledge about hypertension affects the quality of life for people with hypertension. Method: This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the physical activity of people with hypertension. This study used a quantitative analytic study with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used proportional random sampling. The study population was 100 people, and a total sample of 50 people. The research instrument used an accurate knowledge questionnaire of 20 items to see the level of knowledge and a physical activity questionnaire on the SF-12 to see the quality of life. Result: The results showed that the respondents had more knowledge than the average yaiu as many as 32 people (64%). While the physical activity of respondents in the good category was 25 people (50%). Conclusion: Based on the results of the analysis, the conclusion is that there is a significant relationship between knowledge and physical activity in patients with hypertension as evidenced by the value of ρ value =0.002 and the value of chi square (X2) = 9.810.
Aim: The aim of the research was to demonstrate the effect of genetic counseling on depression, anxiety and knowledge level among diabetes mellitus patients. Design: Quasi-experimental study. Methods: A quantitative study that used a questionnaire instrument to assess participants' levels of depression, anxiety, and knowledge. A total of 38 diabetes mellitus patients who met the inclusion criteria were studied for two months at the Lakbok Public Health Center with genetic counseling. Outcomes were measured before and after the counseling intervention provided. The statistical analysis was performed using the IBM SPSS version 25.0 software. Results: The results showed that the majority of participants (76.3%) had moderate depression prior to the genetic counseling intervention. However, after the intervention, most of the participants (73.7%) experienced mild depression, with a change in mean ± standard deviation (SD) pre-post 26.3 ± 3.1 to 17.6 ± 2.6. The anxiety level of most participants was moderate (73.7%). After the intervention, most participants experienced mild anxiety (86.8%) with a change in mean ± SD 16.7 ± 3.3 to 11.3 ± 2.3. In addition, before the intervention the knowledge level of the majority of the participants was satisfactory (86.8%). After the intervention, the knowledge level of the majority of the participants became good (52.6%) with a change in the mean ± SD of 12.8 ± 1.4 to 16.1 ± 2.3. Conclusions: Changes in the level of depression, anxiety and knowledge in different categories are real evidence of the consistency of the intervention's effect on these very significant factors that have implications for health services in various health facilities such as hospitals and public health centers. Therefore, serious efforts are needed so that health policies encourage the presence of genetic counseling services for DM patients and patients of other genetic diseases.
