A sepse é considerada um sério problema de saúde pública na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI), que mesmo com um grande esforço de investigação nas últimas décadas continua sendo um considerável e crescente desafio aos cuidados de saúde. O objetivo do estudo é compreender quais são os fatores que estão associados ao desenvolvimento de sepse em pacientes internados na unidade de terapia intensiva. Trata-se de um estudo de revisão integrativa, realizada por meio da BVS, LILACS, MEDLINE e PUBMED. Foram encontrados 147 estudos, após avaliação, 06 foram selecionados para compor a amostra final. Os fatores de riscos associados à sepse em pacientes da UTI estão relacionados aos procedimentos invasivos: ventilação mecânica, cateterismo vascular central e cateterismo, além da longa permanência na unidade de internação. Esses procedimentos estão associados ao número elevado de óbitos por sepse na unidade de terapia intensiva, dado que o risco de contaminação e agravo do funcionamento do organismo é elevado. Evidenciou-se por meio dos estudos que o desenvolvimento da sepse no ambiente hospitalar é um fator que influencia diretamente para o comprometimento da qualidade de vida dos pacientes, aumentando desse modo o índice de mortalidade.
As intoxicações são os principais acidentes que ocorrem com as crianças, principalmente ao público com faixa etária de 0 a 4 anos, em detrimento do processo de desenvolvimento motor da criança e pelo desconhecimento dos responsáveis em relação aos métodos de prevenção e pela ausência de supervisão, o que influência direta ou indiretamente na incidência dos casos. Objetiva-se compreender quais são os fatores associados à intoxicação infantil por produtos de limpeza e ressaltar a importância das ações de conscientização e educação em saúde. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura realizada por intermédio das bases de dados BVS, LILACS, MEDLINE e PUBMED. Foram encontrados 69 estudos, que após avaliação, seis foram selecionados para composição da amostra final. Observou-se que os casos de intoxicação infantil por produtos de limpeza estão relacionados às fases iniciais da vida da criança e do seu desenvolvimento. Conclui-se que o armazenamento adequado é um dos fatores que contribuem para a diminuição dos casos de intoxicação exógena por produtos de uso doméstico e que as ações de educação em saúde são fundamentais para a minimização da ocorrência dos casos.
