The article proceeds from the observation of a difficulty in creating aesthetic shocks in certain theatrical poetics practiced today. From this concern, draws a parallel between these practices and the Michel Foucault's ideas of disciplinary society, and society of control from Gilles Deleuze. These approaches aim to investigate the impact of these concepts on the scenic practice, its echoes in the reception of the spectator, and its influence on the composition processes of theatrical works. Such analysis permeates the ideas of theatricality and performativity, watching as the exploitation or denial of these concepts may propose other forms of perception of scenic composition in an attempt to reactivate the ability to create shocks in theatrical poetics.
