In March 2020 almost all cities in Indonesia face the scary viruses namely corona. The speed of the viruses spread influences all aspects of life without exception. Education system is one of the crucial things which is influenced by this virus. Whether want or not, the educators must change their way of teaching. Face to face in the class must be avoided. The purpose of this study is to clarify ways of corona virus pandemic reshape education. This study also explains about kinds of online learning which are used by the educators in the era of pandemic corona viruses in the world and the strategies to improve online teaching when university is closed. The advantages of using them are also clarified. In addition, the writer try to gain the information about the effectiveness of using online learning to teach.
Character is very important aspect of human being. Having good character will contribute students to have good personality. Both parent and teacher have responsibility to inculcate the character to the children since they are elder person who usually interact with them. Morality is part of character which is very needed today. The fact that some children loose their respect to the parent, teachers, and friends is a signal that there is a degradation of students character. School as places where students spend most of their time must give good contribution to students characters. The importance of teaching morality and how to insert morality in school become the topic of this paper. It is hoped that by having good morality, indonesian education will become better and better which automatically makes the quality of indonesian education become highly improved.
The problem of this study was concerned with British Parliamentary Debate Style Training to improve second semester students’ speaking ability at English Education Study Program at Baturaja University. The objective of this study was to find out whether it was significantly effective or not to implement British Parliamentary Debate Style Training to improve second semester students’ speaking ability at English Education Study Program at Baturaja University. This study used pre experimental design covered pre test before the treatment and post test after the treatment. The second semester students of English Education Study Program at Baturaja University were the population. The number of the population was 18 students. The researcher took class A as a sample by using cluster random sampling. Based on the calculation, the sample of the study was 12 students and the significance level (α = 0.05). The result of paired t test has value of ttest (5.033) was more than the value of ttabel (2.2009) with df = 12-1 = 11. The value of Sig. (2-tailed) was 0.000 lower than the value of significance level (α = 0.05). This result showed that the alternative Hypostudy (Ha) was accepted. It meant that British Parliamentary Debate Style Training could improve second semester students’ speaking ability of English Education Study Program. The Problems of the study concerned with whether or not the students’ need English for specific purposes in reading. In addition, the study was done to find out the student’s need in reading comprehension. Total sampling method was used to take the sample. The sample was 11 students from the eighth grade in academic year 2019/2020. A Descriptive method was used in this study. The writer used questionnaires and documentation in collecting the data. The result of study from view of Target needs (necessities) showed that 72.8% claimed that they hope that learning English could support their future works. The result of target needs showed that 45.5% were in beginner level. 81.8% want to be able to master both general vocabulary and Islamic world terms. Moreover, the result of learning needs, input in reading comprehension 72.7% claimed that reading can add English vocabulary. From procedure in reading, 54.5% said that they were agree with arranging random paragraphs or sentences into a correct or logical paragraph sequence of sentence. Next, 90.9% students wanted to do the study outside the classroom, 45.5% claimed that they were strongly agree with activity in discussing and being active in investigation. The last, 54.5% students were strongly agreed that teachers must create an active atmosphere to solve problems and doing assignment.
