Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi Internet, membuat remaja menjadi kelompok digital native karena mereka tidak perlu diajari cara menggunakan teknologi tersebut. Kelompok remaja ini menjadi sasaran utama dalam literasi digital karena (1) dianggap paling rentan, dan (2) diharapkan menjadi agen perubahan untuk mengatasi berbagai problem masyarakat digital. Interaksi di dunia maya biasanya lebih mempererat hubungan juga dapat pula merenggangkan hubungan yang sudah terjalin. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menggambarkan pengembangan hubungan interpersonal remaja dalam penggunaan media sosial menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setiap remaja mempunyai banyak identitas atau akun di media sosial, baik pada akun asli maupun akun palsu. Pada kenyataannya terdapat perbedaan antara pribadi di dunia nyata dengan pribadi di dunia maya. Efektivitas komunikasi interpersonal dipengaruhi oleh seberapa besar keterbukaan dari remaja yang sedang berinteraksi, sehingga dapat meningkatkan hubungan antar personal remaja tersebut, menjadi lebih dekat dan erat walaupun mereka berkomunikasi dengan menggunakan media sosial. Sikap remaja pada saat beriteraksi dengan orang lain dipengaruhi faktor eksternal dan faktor internal berupa kecerdasan emosional dan kepercayaan diri. Remaja membutuhkan pengembangan hubungan antar personal dalam berkomunikasi menggunakan media sosial.
A large number of junior high school student gadget users is a critical case to observe. Several studies on digital literacy show various levels of digital literacy in various degrees of education. There are limited numbers of digital literacy research on junior high school students; therefore, it is vital to conduct a study on junior high school digital literacy level. This study aimed to understand Sukabumi City's junior high student digital literacy level based on Paul Giltser`s concept. This research exercised a descriptive survey and collected data through a questionnaire to 400 respondents. The data analysis used was descriptive statistics. The results showed that each component of Internet Searching, Hypertextual Navigation, Content Evaluation, and Knowledge Assembly had a good score. In conclusion, the student's understanding of digital literacy is positioned on a positive level and good category. In general, students have a compatible gadget to access the internet. However, they do not fully understand the proper and optimal use of the gadget; hence it needs to be improved.
Abstract. This study aims at (1) exploring how Ridwan Kamil socializes public policy through digital public sphere, specifically Facebook, (2) exploring how Ridwan Kamil's rhetorical style to socialize public policy, and (3) exploring how the thematic selection can attract the society's attention to read the public policy socialization on Facebook. This study applies Discourse analysis as the method to answer research questions. Discourse analysis that this study uses includes various texts, i.e. in the textual, graphic, and video forms. In addition, Discourse analysis refers to an approach using interdisciplinary theories that have relation to digital public sphere, politics, public policy, and rhetoric. The result of this study, academically, is expected to be able to be the reference for more holistic studies in the future related to the use of digital public sphere in socializing public policy and politics in Indonesia. The result of this study, practically, is expected to be able to be the bridge between the conformity of theories and the practice in making digital public sphere, for example Facebook, become an effective medium that can share information of public policy.
Intolerance behaviors that are not anticipated may give birth to the danger of radicalism both psychologically and physically. This study aims at exploring the way to select and discover informational sources related to the topics; at investigating a means of estimating, accepting, and determining the best thing in the future; at analyzing a means of building new knowledge associated with gained information; and discovering a means of providing and broadcasting information on the website. This study used case study method in order to observe the reality of information literacy and the danger of intolerance among the net generation Observation findings show that the doctrine of intolerance was spread through group discussions of religious Student Activity Unit (UKM). The massive spread of radical viruses is supported by the dominance of the internet as the main medium in information searching. The condition is made worse by low information literacy skills. The results of this study expected to be able to be used as references relating to information literacy for the net generation to anticipate the danger of intolerance which is the forerunner of radicalism. The results showed that the low reading abilities led to a conservative interpretation of religious meanings, which considered one’s understanding more correct and accused others as infidels. This phenomenon can be seen from the discovery of limited new knowledge. Hence, the knowledge of information literacy must be introduced in lecture rooms and within intra-university activities.
