It's a benzyl kind of magic: In the title reaction proceeding with benzyl chloride as the oxidant, the benzyl group serves as a carbon ligand, thus having an η3‐coordination effect on palladium (see scheme). A variety of aldehydes and alcohols were selectively converted into the corresponding esters in good to excellent yields.
Copper-catalyzed enantioselective allylic alkylation of azoles with γ,γ-disubstituted primary allylic phosphates was achieved using a new chiral N-heterocyclic carbene ligand bearing a naphtholic hydroxy group. This reaction occurred with excellent branch regioselectivity and high enantioselectivity, thus forming a controlled all-carbon quaternary stereogenic center at the position α to the heteroaromatic ring.
{Fe(P4Mo6)2}-type phosphomolybdates with a 3D inorganic porous crystal structure exhibit efficient electrochemical activity for the determination of Cr(vi).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
