Für die Teilnahme spielt es keine Rolle, ob sich jemand als helfender oder als hilfesuchender Akteur dem Thema Gesundheit zuwendet. So geschieht es, dass sich Ärzte aus verschiedenen Fachbereichen, Krankenschwestern, Pfleger, Studierende, Theologen, Patienten, Psychologen und Philosophen, Physiotherapeuten, Bewegungswissenschaftler oder interessierte Bürger auf Augenhöhe begegnen und austauschen. Das Ziel jeder Veranstaltung ist es, gemeinsam den Fokus auf die eigenen Fähigkeiten zur Gesundung bzw. Gesunderhaltung zu richten. Einen Einfluss auf das Format des MGG haben insbesondere: 1. das Gesprächssetting nach Michael Balint, 2. das Salutogenesemodell mit seinem Fokus auf die Gesundheits-und Lebensförderung (nicht auf die vermeintliche Krankheitsentstehung) nach Aaron Antonovsky [1], 3. der Gestaltkreis mit seiner komplementären Einheit von Bewegen und Wahrnehmen -von Leib und Seele sowie der Umwelt nach Viktor von Weizsäcker [2], 4. die Funktionelle Entspannung mit ihrem expliziten Einbezug des Spürens und des Atmens nach Marianne Fuchs [3].
