Objective: To understand the experience of people with chronic kidney disease using arteriovenous fistula. Method: Qualitative and exploratory study based on Social Phenomenology, conducted on 30 adults undergoing hemodialysis by using the fistula, interviewed in 2017. The interviews were analyzed according to the empirical-comprehensive model proposed by Amedeo Giorgi. Results: We found the categories “The changed body aesthetics”; “The perception of the other about my body”; and “The fistula as an inseparable condition for life maintenance.” Final considerations: The experience of people using fistula showed that this venous access leaves marks that change the body aesthetics, making the body imperfect. Such changes cause low self-esteem and attract the look of the other, causing embarrassment in those who have the body changed. Thus, they react by camouflaging the fistula, without which there is no life. This perception arises from the fear that works as a catalyst for self-care.

Aim: to describe the profile of high-risk pregnant women attending the HUAP maternity hospital. Method:descriptive, retrospective and documentary research, with a quantitative approach, performed at a hospital in Niterói/RJ. Data were collected in 2013, through 148 medical records of high-risk pregnant women admitted to the hospital, from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012, and treated by descriptive statistics. Results: the majority of the pregnant women were young (up to 30 years old), with a companion and resided in the metropolitan region II/RJ. Half of them had one or two living children; 59.5% were multigravida; 79.1% had never aborted; and, among those who showed previous delivery (n=93), 64.5% had submitted to cesarean section. Regarding prenatal care, 93.3% presented attendance to the appointments. Most of the pregnant women went to the hospital through their own choice (42.6%) as they presented symptoms of general practice. Fifty-nine cases were identified 59 causes for hospitalization, with higher occurrence due to premature amniorrexis and arterial hypertension. Conclusion: the presented results can trigger proposals of protocols of attendance and monitoring of this clientele.
Objective: to identify the factors associated with pregnancy that influence constant glycemic variability. Method: a case-control study with random sampling. The medical records of 417 pregnant women were divided into case group (200 pregnant women with constant glycemic variability) and control group (217 pregnant women without constant glycemic variability). Data were collected from 2009 to 2015. Results: pregnant women aged 25 years and over, with family history of diabetes mellitus, with systemic arterial hypertension, overweightness or obesity, sedentarism and polycystic ovarian syndrome are more likely to present changes in blood glucose. Conclusion: The study demonstrated that risk factors associated with pregnancy increase the risk of constant glycemic variability. The findings will allow reassessment of the interventions during pregnancy, providing an increase in nursing care quality.
Introduction: The training of nurses in care for the individual Trans, shows us the need for some changes in professional practice since it is notable the little intimacy about the demands of this population. Objective: To survey what scientific production reveals about nursing care for the Trans public. Method: Integrative review of a qualitative approach. Results: After searching the database, As researched in the virtual health library - VHL and Public Medline (PubMed) in the LILACS (Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences) databases, BDENF (Nursing database) ) and MEDLINE (Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online) The result is that there is no preparation to better assist the Trans population in the training of nurses, there is also little scientific production about this care, in addition to little promotion of the National Policy LGBT Integral Health Program in the training of this professional. Final considerations: The construction of a dialogue about the health needs of the trans individual needs to exist within the training of the nurses professional to prepare him/her to meet the care demands concerning nursing care, so programmatic contents are suggested to be applied in the training of nurses.
