Die zeitlich begrenzte und temperaturabhängige Hemmung des Umsatzes von flüssigem Zink mit festem Eisen durch geringe Zugaben von Aluminium zum Zink wird durch the Bildung einer die Diffusion dieser beiden Partner zunächst sperrenden Fe/Al‐Schicht erklärt. Die gebildeten Fe/Al‐Phasen sind im Zustand eines möglichen Gitterumbaues besonders reaktionsfähig und vermögen in diesem Zustand dann nicht mehr als Diffusionshindernis zu wirken.
Erzeugung von glänzenden Zinkoberflächen durch Beeinflussung der Oxydationsvorgänge infolge geringer Gehalte von 0,01 % Al im Zinkbad. Verbesserung der Biegefähigkeit des Zinküberzuges durch Vermeidung spröder Eisen‐Zink‐Legierungsschichten bei Gehalten von 0,2 bis 0,3 % Al im Zinkbad. Untersuchungen über die Wirkung der Flußmitteldecke bei Näß‐ und Trockenverzinkung im Zusammenhang mit der Hartzinkbildung. Vermeidung der Hartzinkbildung durch hohen Aluminiumzusatz volkswirtschaftlich unrichtig. Verwendung von Umschmelzaluminium.
In Salzsdtmelzen verhalten sich die Metalle zuemander grundsaelich ahnlich wie in wadriger Losung. So wie es fur diese eine Spannungsreihe gibt, so lassen sich die Metalle auch in Ssllzschmelzen in eke Spannungsreihe einordnen. Fur #die Metalle Aluminium, Zink, Eisen ist die Reihenfolge in der Spanmngsreihe fur wadrige Losungen und Salzschmelzen die gleiche. Auch hier gilt, da8 das unedlere Metall das edlere aus der Salzschanelze ausfallt, so wie adas bei wadrigen Losungen der Fall Ist. Dieses Venhalten h h g t bekanntlich letzten Endes damit zusammen, chi3 die Binsdung .der Valenz elektronen unterschiedlich stark ist. Kommt also beispielsweise metallisches Aluminium rnit einer Zinkchloridschmelze mmmrnen, so txitt die na&stehende Reaktion ein:Ein festes Metall konnen wir uns ja bbnntlich d s ein Raumgitter von Metallionen vorstelkn, das durch 1dieValenzelektronen zusammengekittet ist. Werden nun inlfolge der starkeren Affinitat ,der Ziakionen zu den Valenzelektronen von diesem dem metallischen Aluminium die Valenzelektronen weggenommen, so wird dadurch das Aluminium ionisiert und Zink wird durch diese Elektronen zu einem Metall verkittet.Der unvermeidbare Ablauf dieser Reahion im Fludmittel von mit Aluminium legierten Verzinkbadern hat zur Entwicklung des T r o c k e n v e r z i n k e n s gefiihrt, bei dem das Fludmittel auf die Warenoberflache aufgetrocknet wird, so dad sich auf der rnit Aluminium legierten Zinkschmelze kein Flulhittel mehr kfindet. Hierdurch k a m man den storenden Abhuf der obcn angefiihrten Reaktion vermeiden 1121 3).Durch den Ablauf lder ,anigegebenen Realstion kommt es zu einer storenden Verarmung an Aluminium im Zinkihd und zu einer Zerstorung des Fludmittels auf dem Bad. Das gebildete (AlC13) verdampft namlich bereits bei Temperaturen, wie sie in .der Fludmittelschmelze aufrreten, so dad es nicht als (AICL), sondern als Amminkamplexverbimdung atbdmpft. Die Warmetonung des Umsarzes AlCl3 + NH3 ist mit ungefahr 40 kcal verhaltnismadig hoch, so $dad vermutlich eine ganze Reihe von Aluminiumchloriad-Amoniakaten gebildet wind. An sich sinsd solche rnit l, 3, 5 und 6 Molekulen NH3 bekannt, wobei ,die mit einem NH3 Anlagerungsvehinsdungen, also Mokkulgitter darstellen, die mit 3, 5 unbd 6 NlH3 aber Einhgerungsvehindungen,
Das „Bartgefüge‟ als abweichende Form des Zinküberzuges auf Stahl kann durch eine natürliche oder künstliche Verdichtung der Zeta‐Phase unterbunden werden. Auf Elektrolyteisen wird die Ausbildung der Gamma‐Phase gefördert. Der Transport von Verunreinigungen in der Eisen‐Zink‐Legierungsschicht läßt eine Beschränkung des Wanderungsvorganges auf das Zink bei der Bildung des Überzuges vermuten.
