EinfuhrungDas Yuiitsu-Shinto My6b6-y6shui ist eine der wichtigsten Schriften, wenn nicht gar die wichtigste religi6se Schrift des mittelalterlichen Shinto. Dr. S. K6no, Priisident der Shint6-Universitat (Kokugakuin) in T8ky8, urteilt daruiber, wie folgt:,, Eine der Shint6erklarungen, die in der Shint8geschichte unseres Landes das weiteste System gebildet und auf Glauben und Ideen der Gegenwart den bedeutendsten Einfluss ausgeiibt haben, ist der zu Beginn der zweiten Hailfte der Muromachizeit entstandene Yuiitsu-Shint6 des Yoshidahauses. Yoshida Kanetomo hat diesen Yuiitsu-Shint8 (oder Gempon-S6gen-Shint8) systematisiert und vollendet. Die Schrift, in der diese Lehre im einzelnen dargelegt wird, ist das Yuiitsu-Shint6 My6b6-y6shuf."') Eine andere japanische Autoritiit auf dem Gebiete der Shint6forschung, Dr. G. Kato, nennt in einem englisch geschriebenen Aufsatz iuber Urabe Kanetomo (=Yoshida Kanetomo) dessen Lehre ,, the all-comprehensive syncretic philosophical system of the Shint8 religion",2) in dem die durch Namen wie Watarai Ieyuki ,9rf, Kitabatake Chikafusa A1LAT, Imbe Masamichi ,IE und IchijO Kaneyoshi {j gekennzeichnete mittelalterliche Lehrentwicklung gipfelt. Auch das Urteil von Dr. S. Kiyohara in seiner bekannten Shintogeschichte, das die schwachen Seiten nicht verschweigt, liisst doch die hohe geschichtliche Bedeutung des Systems erkennen: ,, Der Vollender des Yoshidashinto ist Yoshida Kanetomo. Man mag es wohl bemerkenswert finden, dass in einer literarischen Verfallzeit wie der Sengokujidai eine so hervorragende Shintolehre hat entstehen konnen. Aber vielleicht mag gerade wegen des literarischen Verfalls und der allgemeinen Ungebildetheit die Shintolehre des Kanetomo so 1) S.
