According to the process theory of changing plate in offset printing, this paper proposes a automatic changing offset plate method which uses the microcontroller as the cybernetics core. Based on analyzing the process of changing-plate and control way, a hardware system which incorporate microcontroller is made and debugged. The result of debugging shows that the system can absolutely meet the work of changing-plate and it is stable, low cost and has good productive technology. It is capable of reducing a load to an operator and improving operation efficiency.
The printing machine is a sort of large-scale equipment characterized by high speed and precision. A fault diagnosis method based on kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) and K-means clustering is developed to classify the types of feeding fault. The multidimensional and nonlinear data of printed image could be reduced by KPCA to make up the deficiency of the traditional K-means clustering method. In this paper, it is experimentally verified that the classification accuracy of the combined method is higher than the traditional clustering analysis method in feeding fault detection and diagnosis. This method provides a shortcut for the determination of fault sources and realizes multi-faults diagnosis of printing machinery efficiently
In the contact area of offset, a relative slide occurs between the surface of plate cylinder and blanket cylinder, which changes the print image and influences the printing quality. The relative slide in the cylinders’ rolling process is investigated, and the determination rule of cylinders’ geometric parameters of offset press is proposed. The results show that the relative slide is minimization under the condition that the compression of elastic cylinder radius is 0.2 times bigger than that of rigid cylinder radius, and the deformation of print image and dot gain both are minimization. The results provide theoretical direction for accurate determination of cylinder radius of offset press.

Combined with technical features of cutting papers and experiences of artificial processing paths, this article have to analyze the characteristics of irregular layout, then put out a new complex algorithm of cutting path and solve the planning of irregular layout cutting path. Development a optimization software of paper cutter. The cutting software based on JDF digital workflow, can obtain layout information directly from the prepress, and then transmitted generate cutting program to the cutter, which reduced the error caused by manual measurement and improved the cutting accuracy and efficiency.
