This study was carried out in order to determine the opinions of teacher candidates towards the Teaching Field Knowledge Tests (TFKT) on the Public Personnel Selection Examination (PPSE). For this purpose, an opinion form with 14 closed ended questions and sixteen questions including personal information was applied to the participants consisting of 306 teacher candidates in 16 branches. Except for two of the questions on the opinion form, the others are answered in two steps. While it is necessary to choose one of the options in the first stage, it is desirable to explain why they mark the option in the second stage. Analyses of the data were performed using content analyses. For this, answers by candidates to closed questions are presented in table forms in frequency and percentage rations according to sex. According to the findings obtained, the teacher candidates stated that graduation grades are sufficient to be assigned, they do not want to enter the examination, and if the examination is to be done, it should be made according to TFKT. The examination should also be done in such a way that it does not allow any doubt in candidates. It is recommended that candidates who are graduates of education faculty are assigned to their assignments according to the graduation notes or as a contribution to PPSE.
This study has been conducted with the aim of determination of some misconceptions in solution concentrations of the teacher candidates and examination regarding to some variables of comprehension levels. Thus, an assessment tool consisting of 10 conceptions about solution concentrations has been applied to 131 science teacher candidates. Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient has been found as 0.710 for the conceptions in the tool. According to the retrieved findings, it has been concluded that teacher candidates use conceptions about solution concentrations interchangeably; and, there is a positive linear relationship between the comprehension levels of the conceptions. The meaningful learning from concepts related to solution concentrations was mostly in terms of normality and molarity, while the most misconception was the concept of concentration. The comprehension levels were not significant according to the gender of teacher candidates and Chemistry I and II courses, in order to prevent misconceptions; students' prior knowledge must be revealed and rebuilt.
Soruların 71'i Kimya, 12'si Fen Bilimleri/Fen ve Teknoloji ÖABT' den alınmıştır.
