Pemanfaatan tanaman obat di pekarangan rumah untuk mencegah penyakit degenertif mampu meningkatkan taraf kesehatan masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengedukasi masyarakat dalam mengenal dan memanfaatkan tanaman obat sebagai pencegahan penyakit degeneneratif. Selain itu juga untuk mencegah dan menjadikan pertolongan pertama penyakit degeneratif agar tidak menjadi kronis dengan memanfaatkan tanaman obat. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Meurandeh Kecamatan Langsa Lama Kota Langsa, Aceh. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu edukasi masyarakat melalui penyuluhan dengan memberikan penjelasan tentang penyakit degeneratif, melakukan sosialisasi jenis-jenis tanaman obat, manfaat dan aplikasinya. Kegiatan ini diikuti ibu-ibu rumah tangga anggota Pendidikan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK), dan pemuda-pemudi yang ada di Desa Meurandeh. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan masyarakat sangat antusias untuk mengenal, memanfaatkan secara langsung jenis-jenis tanaman obat dan mempraktikkan cara menanamnya pada media tanam. Pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat Desa Meurandeh dalam mengenal, memanfaatkan, menanam/ membudidayakan, dan meracik sendiri tanaman obat sangat tinggi setelah kegiatan. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat berdasarkan pengolahan data dari angket yang disebar setelah kegiatan baik dari aspek kognitif, afektif, maupun konasi masyarakat peserta pelatihan.
Indonesia is one of the positive countries for the corona virus (Covid-19). Experts cite several reasons for the increasing number of cases, one of which is the attitude of the public who careless about minimizing contact between people, the lack of sanctions for violations of self-quarantine, and the lack of location information that the community must avoid. The attitude of caring society, especially education actors, is certainly one of the important things that needs attention. Environmental care and responsibility are character values that need to be developed. Students can get character education through the learning process and learning resources, one of which is textbooks. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an integration of character values and what is the percentage of integration of character values in high school chemistry textbooks that have been used by teachers in learning, especially the character of environmental care and responsibility. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using the questionnaire and observation sheet instruments. The sample in this study is the class X chemistry textbook that is most often used in teaching and learning activities at SMA Negeri 2 and SMA Negeri 4 Langsa City. The results showed that there was an integration of the character values of environmental care and responsibility in the X grade chemistry textbooks used by teachers of SMA Negeri 2 and SMA Negeri 4 Kota Langsa. The integration of environmental care character values is 38%, while the responsibility character values is 63%. The integration of the character values of environmental care and responsibility in the class X chemistry textbook appears in the column project activities, student activities, content content, and evaluation.
The values of character in the classroom can be applied through practical activities. Therefore, the learning needs to be applied using lab modules that foster student character values. The purpose of this study was to describe the value of independent character, Environmental Awareness, and curiosity of students on the application of the lab module for the use of secondary metabolites. The research was a descriptive study. It was conducted at Samudra University, Langsa City. The research subjects were students of chemical education at FKIP Samudra university. Data in this study were obtained through interviews and questionnaires. The questionnaire analysis technique was performed using a percentage formula and interpreted to determine the student character value categories. The results showed the average student character values in the use of the lab module secondary metabolite utilization are 84% in the excellent category. Based on the statistical tests, sig. 0.00 showed that the character values of students in the use of lab modules were on average above 50. The results of this study are expected to be information for researchers to develop integrated lab modules for character values.
Nypa fructicans dan Arenga pinnata tergolong dalam suku palmae. Tumbuhan ini sering dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat aceh sebagai sumber air nira. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis kandungan glukosa dan fruktosa yang terkandung pada air nira (Nypa fruticans) dan air nira (Arenga pinnata). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode anthrone. Metode kolorimetri yang digunakan untuk menentukan konsentrasi gula dalam sampel berupa metode Anthrone. Sampel air nira dianalisis menggunakan spektrofotometer. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kandungan pada glukosa yang paling tinggi ada pada air Arenga pinnata sebesar 7,61%, sedangkan yang paling rendah pada air Nypa fruticans sebesar 4,66%. Demikian juga dengan kandungan fruktosa, dimana air Arenga pinnata sebesar 4,17% memiliki kandungan fruktosa yang paling tinggi sedangkan air Nypa fruticans mengandung fruktosa paling rendah yaitu 1,90%.
This study aims to analyze the increase in students' scientific literacy by implementation of case method learning. This is a quasi-experimental research using a one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample is the first semester students of the Chemistry Education Department at Universitas Samudra in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. This research consists of four stages, namely material analysis, development of tools and instruments, implementation, and data analysis. The scientific literacy test instrument was used to measure students' scientific literacy. Students' scientific literacy skills are presented according to content, science process, and context aspects. The increase in students' scientific literacy skills was analyzed based on the N-gain and paired sample t test. The results of the study found that students' scientific literacy skills in all content, science process, and contexts, were higher in the posttest than the pretest except for content energy that accompanies changes in material and context of natural resources. The average scientific literacy ability of students at the posttest (74.33) was higher than at the pretest (57.08). The N-gain value of 0.40 indicates an increase in students' scientific literacy skills with implementation of case method learning in the medium category. Analysis with paired sample t test indicates a significant difference in the pretest and posttest scores. Thus, it can be concluded that case method learning can improve students' scientific literacy skills in the three domains of scientific literacy.
