Encouraging engineering students to handle advanced technology with multimedia, as well as motivate them to have the skills of solving the problem, are the missions of the teacher in preparing students for a modern professional career. This research proposes a scenario of problem solving in basic electrical circuits based on an e-learning system to assess students skills in solving the problem through the use of the e-learning system. Through cooperation between the teacher and the students and among the students themselves, the proposed scenario indicates a high acceptability from the students to acquire cognitive skills; the students present more motivation to use advanced technology during instruction.
Spectral subtraction is used in this research as a method to remove noise from noisy speech signals in the frequency domain. This method consists of computing the spectrum of the noisy speech using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and subtracting the average magnitude of the noise spectrum from the noisy speech spectrum. We applied spectral subtraction to the speech signal "Real graph". A digital audio recorder system embedded in a personal computer was used to sample the speech signal "Real graph" to which we digitally added vacuum cleaner noise. The noise removal algorithm was implemented using Matlab software by storing the noisy speech data into Hanning time-widowed half-overlapped data buffers, computing the corresponding spectrums using the FFT, removing the noise from the noisy speech, and reconstructing the speech back into the time domain using the inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT). The performance of the algorithm was evaluated by calculating the Speech to Noise Ratio (SNR). Frame averaging was introduced as an optional technique that could improve the SNR. Seventeen different configurations with various lengths of the Hanning time windows, various degrees of data buffers overlapping, and various numbers of frames to be averaged were investigated in view of improving the SNR. Results showed that using one-fourth overlapped data buffers with 128 points Hanning windows and no frames averaging leads to the best performance in removing noise from the noisy speech.
One of the problems of the south area in Iraq is the reduced of quantity and the lack of quality of the supplied water, especially in the remote areas. This problem is caused due to many reasons. One of these reasons is the decrease of supplied electricity, wh ich reflected on the performance of water pump ing and desalination stations. This paper presenting a project that presented to municipality of Al-Nasiriya city to overcome the problem of the lack in quantity and quality of the supplied water to some villages that remote from the center of the city, through the use of complex modules that consists of small renewable power station with desalination unit. The project goes through some stages starting from collecting the data that related to the aim of the project like; sun radiation level, wind speed, dust quantity, quality and quantity of the presented water, and the type of activity in the area. The collected data were analy zed and evaluated and then the decision comes to execute three complex modules in three locations, powered by small solar energy unit in each. The operation of these modules gives good results, where they offers an acceptable quality with sufficient quantity of water and this an encourage results to populate this experiment in remote areas .

Streaming of video over wireless heterogeneous networks coping with the problem of packet loss which affects the perceived video quality. The service providers usually use the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio PSNR as a metric measure for the quality of their provided service. So they use the quality of service QoS of the network as a sign on the quality of their presented service. The QoS deal with the objective tests of the provided service, which mean the measure of PSNR of the presented objects. The presented objects may not get the satisfaction of the network users due to many factors although that the PSNR of the used service is enough for presenting the service. Recently the service providers use the Quality of Experience QoE term which deal with the subjective test of the presented object (i.e. the user satisfaction measure). In this paper we propose a new model to identify the importance or the significance of the role of the QoE assessment for the service providers. To verify our proposed model we did a referendum for 55 participants in order to assess their judgment on the quality of some presented videos. The results of the referendum match the consideration of the proposed model.
