<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>Antecedentes.</strong> La actividad física, en el ámbito laboral, demarca una responsabilidad de la disciplina de fisioterapia para caracterizar los motivos que conducen a los trabajadores a participar en los programas de acondicionamiento físico laboral.</span></p><p class="p1"><strong>Objetivo.</strong> Establecer la asociación de los factores motivacionales y el nivel de práctica de la actividad física en el marco de un programa de acondicionamiento físico laboral para trabajadores de una empresa del sector productivo de flores del municipio de Chía, Cundinamarca, Colombia. </p><p class="p1"><strong>Materiales y métodos.</strong> La muestra estuvo conformada por 94 trabajadores —de los cuales el 50% tenían entre 20 y 29 años y el 77.7% eran de sexo femenino y pertenecientes al sector de cultivo de flores—, quienes diligenciaron el instrumento de motivación <em>Autoinforme de Motivos para la Práctica de Ejercicio Físico </em>(AMPEF) y de práctica <em>Cuestionario Internacional de Actividad Física </em>(IPAQ) versión corta, para determinar el gasto energético por práctica de actividad física (GEPAF).</p><p class="p1"><strong>Resultados.</strong> Los principales motivos de práctica de la actividad física fueron lograr salud positiva, con una mediana de 4.3 puntos (RIC 3.3-5.0), y evitar la enfermedad, con una mediana de 3.8 (RIC 2.7-4.7). La mediana del gasto energético por la práctica de actividad física (GEPAF) fue de 3563.5 Mets-min/semana (RIC 2328.0-5859.0). El análisis de regresión lineal generalizado mostró asociación entre las variables que incluyen estos instrumentos.</p><p class="p1"><span class="s2"><strong>Conclusión.</strong> El abordaje de aspectos motivacionales y de necesidades específicas del grupo es necesario desde los postulados que afirman que la actividad física es requerida en los planes de intervención y prevención primaria asociados con los motivos que conducen a la práctica de ejercicios en los trabajadores.</span></p>
