Reactions of Guanidinium Salts with Alkyl Bromides and Acid ChloridesThe guanidinium salt l a reacts with alkyl bromides 2a -g and acid chlorides 2h -k to give the nitriles 3a -g and the acyl cyanides 3h -k, respectively. Acyl isocyanates 4a, b have been obtained from the guanidinium cyanate I d and the acid chlorides 2h, 1. Reaction of the alkyl bromides 2b, c, m, n and acid chlorides 2h, I with the guanidinium thiocyanate l e affords alkyl thiocyanates 5a -d and acyl isothiocyanates 6a, b, respectively.
Orthoamides, XLIII. – Nucleophilic Carbenes from 3‐Alkyl‐1,3,4‐thiadiazolium Salts
1,3,4‐Thiadiazole reacts with alkylating reagents to form 3‐alkyl‐1,3,4‐thiadiazolium salts 1. Deprotonation of the salts 1 affords nucleophilic carbenes 3, which can be trapped with aromatic isocyanates, yielding the spirocyclic compounds 5–7.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
