Die von der tschechischen Literaturwissenschaftlerin Renata Cornejo vorgelegte Untersuchung konzentriert sich auf ausgewählte Prosawerke von Elfriede Jelinek, Anna Mitgutsch und Elisabeth Reichart, genauer gesagt geht es in dem Buch vor allem um Jelineks ›Die Klavierspie-lerin‹, Mitgutschs ›Das andere Gesicht‹ und ›Züchtigung‹ sowie Reicharts ›Februarschatten‹ und ›Komm über den See‹. Die Auswahl versteht sich nicht als exemplarisch, exemplarisch ist eher die methodische Konstruktion von Cornejos Untersuchung. Deren theoretischer Rahmen wird durch die Frage vorgegeben, wie in den einzelnen Werken die postfeministischen Positionen von Hélène Cixous, Luce Irigaray und Julia Kristeva rezipiert werden.Die rezeptionsgeschichtliche Ausrichtung der Untersuchung bedeutet nicht, dass der Weg einer empirischen historischen Rezeptionsanalyse beschritten würde, Cornejo will eher die annähernde Gleichzeitigkeit der Arbeiten der französischen Theoretikerinnen und der österreichischen Schriftstellerinnen zum Ausgangspunkt eines Blickwechsels in Richtung einer postfeministischen Lektüre der Werke von Jelinek, Mitgutsch und Reichart nehmen. Weniger relevant ist dabei die Frage, wie genau die drei österreichischen Schriftstellerinnen die Arbeiten des französischen Postfeminismus rezipiert haben, sondern wie die Theorie der französischen Theoretikerinnen die Aufmerksamkeit für charakteristische inhaltliche Modelle und literarische Verfahrensweisen schärfen kann -ohne dass dabei das Unterschiedliche, die literarische wie die ideologische Differenz dieser drei so verschiedenen österreichischen Schriftstellerinnen aus dem Blick verloren wird.Das erkenntnisleitende Interesse bei Cornejo ist das "weibliche Ich", soweit es als literarisches Konzept in den Texten selber zu rekonstruieren ist. Damit wird von Anfang an ein Analysemodell verteidigt, das nicht von einem vorgegebenen ‚Sein' der Frau ausgeht und sich auch reserviert verhält gegen alle Festschreibungen von Weiblichkeit. Cornejo fragt, im Sinne des französischen Postfeminismus, nicht nach dem weiblichen Ich, sondern nach der "Konstituierung des weiblichen Ich", wie sie aus der Analyse literarischer Texte zu rekonstruieren ist. Auch und vor allem geht es dabei um eine Rekonstruktion des verdrängten Weiblichen, weil die Sprache der von ihr untersuchten Texte gerade diese Verdrängung festhält.Die theoretischen Prämissen dieser Rekonstruktionsarbeit findet Cornejo in Irigarays Konzept der "Befreiung des ‚Weiblichen' aus dem ‚Imaginierten'", in Cixous' "Suche nach der ‚Weiblichkeit' in der Schrift" -besonders im Lesen der "Leerstellen im Text", in denen Spuren der Verdrängung des Weiblichen zu finden sind -und in Kristevas Begriff der Sprache als Ort, an dem sich das Bewusste und Unbewusste überschneiden und "die gesellschaftliche Ordnung durch die Sprache praktiziert und zugleich unterminierten wird.
