Unter Benutzung der Mieschen Theorien über die Lichtstreuung an Dispersionen optisch isotroper Kugeln kann bei homogenisierten Emulsionen mit mittleren Tröpfchendurchmessern > 0,2 μm eine Meßmethode verwendet werden, die es gestattet, aus dem spezifischen Trübungsspektrum einer stark verdünnten Emulsion Art und Parameter der Teilchen‐Größenverteilungsfunktion zu ermitteln. Messungen mit dieser einfachen und schnellen Methode wurden an Rohmilch und unterschiedlich homogenisierter Milch durchgeführt. Als mögliche Verteilungsfunktionen wurden Exponentialverteilungen, Normalverteilungen, Verteilungen mit oberer Grenze und Verteilungen nach Bezemer und Schwarz sowie nach Djakovic untersucht. Die Methode ist auch bei anderen Öl‐in‐Wasser‐Emulsionen anwendbar.
