Objetivo: Compreender os fatores que potencializam o erro alimentar e as suas consequências na qualidade de vida das crianças. Revisão Bibliográfica: O conceito de erro alimentar leva em consideração aspectos qualitativos e/ou quantitativos do processo de alimentação, sendo que esta situação pode ser gerada por causas orgânicas e comportamentais. E as crianças são uma parcela da sociedade que são muito susceptíveis a sofrer com esse erro. A prevalência do erro alimentar é potencializada por fatores como renda, alimentação dos pais, grande exposição a alimentos não saudáveis através da mídia e fast foods, gerando consequências na qualidade de vida das crianças e adolescentes ao aumentar o número de casos de sobrepeso/obesidade, doenças crônicas não transmissíveis como diabetes e hipertensão, cáries, subnutrição/desnutrição, déficits cognitivos e físicos, depressão, infecções e óbito precoce. Considerações finais: O erro alimentar traz consequências que interferem diretamente na qualidade de vida das crianças e uma intervenção nessa problemática é necessária para prevenir prejuízos tanto no presente quanto no futuro dessa população.
A saúde mental representa uma condição indispensável para o futuro profissional médico. No entanto, estudos vêm mostrando um grande aumento de transtornos mentais entre os estudantes de medicina brasileiros. A partir desta temática, este artigo teve como objetivo analisar o desenvolvimento dos transtornos de saúde mental entre estudantes de medicina no Brasil. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de uma revisão narrativa da literatura com abordagem qualitativa. As bases de dados científicas Pubmed, Scielo, Lilacs e BVS foram pesquisadas em busca de estudos, em inglês e português, sobre a saúde mental dos estudantes de medicina brasileiros, publicados de 2010 até 2021. RESULTADOS E DISCUSSÃO: Foi evidenciado que há uma prevalência maior de transtornos de saúde mental entre estudantes de medicina brasileiros que na população em geral. Existem fatores de riscos inerentes ao próprio estudante, como o distanciamento familiar e o aumento de responsabilidades, e há os fatores relacionados à instituição de ensino, como o excesso de trabalhos e a grande carga horária. Consequentemente, os acadêmicos ficam vulneráveis às desordens mentais, principalmente ansiedade e depressão, as quais interferem no seu desempenho social e discente. Dessa forma, as instituições de ensino superior devem criar estratégias, como serviços de apoio psicossociais, para o enfrentamento deste quadro. CONCLUSÃO: Este estudo revelou aspectos relacionados aos transtornos de saúde mental entre estudantes de medicina no Brasil, como os impactos causados no desempenho acadêmico e na qualidade de vida. Diante disso, as instituições de ensino devem apresentar estratégias para o enfretamento dessa realidade.
Introdução: A Síndrome da Apneia Obstrutiva do Sono (SAOS) é um distúrbio caracterizado por episódios repetitivos de obstrução completa ou parcial das vias aéreas superiores durante o sono. A FA é a arritmia cardíaca sustentada mais comum associada a SAOS, apresentando complicações associadas de insuficiência cardíaca, acidente vascular cerebral e morte. Objetivo: Analisar o risco para o desenvolvimento de fibrilação atrial em pacientes adultos diagnosticados com síndrome da apneia obstrutiva do sono. Metodologia: Revisão Sistemática da literatura utilizando-se as bases de dados Pubmed, BVS, LILACS e Scielo. Resultados: Foram selecionados 14 artigos de acordo com os critérios da metodologia PRISMA. Discussão: A apneia do sono foi identificada como um fator de risco para início, manutenção e recorrência de FA. As recorrentes interrupções respiratórias durante a noite aumenta a atividade do SNA cardíaco. Conclusão: É possível concluir que a SAOS está diretamente relacionada com a FA, devido a presença de patologias em comum, como a hipertensão, a obesidade e disfunções no sistema nervoso autônomo, proporcionando assim um ambiente favorável para o surgimento das arritmias. Portanto, pacientes que sofrem de ambas patologias necessitam de mudanças de estilo de vida e um atendimento otimizado em busca da melhoraria na saúde cardiovascular geral.
