Abstract This study aims to investigate on students’ perspective on the use of TikTok Application as supplementary instructional media during pandemic session. 20 students of English Department Student at UNWAHA were voluntary to take part in this descriptive study. Employing questionnaire was carried out to obtain data related to their opinion. The researcher collects the data through questionnaire. Then, the researcher selects and identifies the data. After selecting the data, the researcher displays those data into good sentences. 3) After displaying data, the conclusion is drawn. This questionnaire is analyzed by using descriptive statistics The findings revealed that students at UNWAHA second-semester give positive attitudes towards introducing TikTok as video aids into EFL classroom teaching meanwhile using it as an English learning strategy out of class. Also, they stated that TikTok is expected to be used as instructional media in speaking class.
This research aims at developing reading textbook for Shariah Economy students of the first year. The strategy applied on the textbook was RSBI (Reading Strategy Based Instruction). In this study, the researcher adapted some steps of research and development that was invented by Borg and Gall. The steps in this research covered need analysis, products development, expert validation, revison, try out, and revision. The final Products of this study is reading material that is developed in form of textbook. The textbook consisted of eight units in which each unit applied different reading strategies, such as skimming, scanning, guesing, activating schemata, summarizing, higlighting, and semantic mapping. Globalization era causes local wisdom such as seloko oral literature begins difficult to be found in certain events. Seloko is one of the oral traditions owned by Jambi Province. Seloko can be found in the event of marriage reception, custom event, officer inauguration, etc. This research aims to describe seloko utterance uttered in the Malay community's marriage event living in Sarolangun Regency. Particularly, this research aims to describe the function of seloko and educational values obtained in seloko. The research results show that there are three functions of seloko in marriage advice such as ordering, suggesting, and forbidding. Meanwhile, there are four values of character education in seloko. First, the religious value that relates to obeying the religion and custom. Second, the character value relates to oneself that covers social care, respecting other people, and loyal. Third, the self character value, which relates to society's environment that covers cooperation and democracy. Besides that, seloko can be used as a reference in running life because it contains the teaching and advice.
This study aims to: (1) find out how the Principal's Managerial Competence at MTsN 16 Jombang (2) to know how the Professionalism of Teachers at MTsN 16 Jombang (3) to find out how Teacher Performance at MTsN 16 Jombang (4) how the influence of Principal Managerial Competence and Teacher Professionalism on Teacher Performance at MTsN 16 Jombang. This research is a quantitative study with a research sample of all teachers at MTsN 16 Jombang, totaling 36 teachers. Data collection techniques by observation, spread out questionnaires, documentation, and unstructured interviews. Data analysis used descriptive analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 20.0 for Windows. The results showed: (1) The managerial competence of madrasah principals was in the high category with a percentage of 50% with an average of 110.05. (2) Teacher professionalism is in the medium category with a percentage of 36.1% with an average of 90.88. (3) Teacher performance in the high category with a percentage of 50% with an average of 111.08. (4) There is an effect of managerial competence of madrasah principals and teacher professionalism on teacher performance shown by a simultaneous significance test (F test) with the results of the Fcount value of 19.812 greater than Ftable 3.28 with a sig value of 0.000 less than 0.05 and the coefficient of determination. (R2) is 51.8% while the remaining 48.2% is explained by other variables that are not studied such as work motivation, work climate, and others.
The purpose of this research was to design an electronic book for Totality English Course that was called TEC BOOK. TEC BOOK was electronic book that was based on TBL for students in beginner level. The method of the research was Research and Development method. The researcher chose ADDIE to be the model of this research. ADDIE was model of research that consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation in the steps. The approach of this study was quantitative and qualitative. Interview was used by the researcher to collect the data of need analysis, and questionnaire for collecting the data of implementation product. The subject of this research was the beginner students of Totality English Course (TEC). The result of need analysis showed that students needed a book to study in the course to make the study became more effective and interesting than before. The result of need analysis was supported by the result of implementation. The result showed that (90,76%) students of Totality English Course (TEC) were strongly agree about the implementation of TEC BOOK in TEC. The result of development showed that TEC BOOK got (82%) in validation of media and got (94%) in validation of material. It means that the media and material in TEC BOOK was valid. Based on that result TEC BOOK was ready to be used by the students of TEC in studying English.
