Bu çalışma, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin öz etkilik-yeterlik düzeylerini incelemek amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve analitik tipte yürütülen bu araştırmanın örneklemini kamu üniversitelerinde öğrenim gören ve araştırmaya katılmaya gönüllü 143 son sınıf hemşirelik öğrencileri oluşturmuştur. Veriler, Öğrenci Tanıtım Formu ile Sherer ve arkadaşları (1982) tarafından geliştirilen ve Gözüm ve Aksayan (1999) tarafından Türkçe'ye uyarlanan Öz-Etkililik-Yeterlik Ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde Kruskall Wallis Testi ile Mann Whitney U Testi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışma kapsamına giren öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 21.11±2.16 (min.18, max.28) olup, %81.1'inin kız, %58.7'sinin annesinin, %44.3'ünün babasının ilkokul mezunu olduğu, % 10.5'inin ailesinin gelir durumunun iyi olmadığı, %55.9'unun ise öğrenim gördüğü bölümü isteyerek tercih ettiği saptanmıştır. Ölçeğin toplam Cronbach alfa güvenirlik katsayısı 0.71 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Öğrencilerin ölçek toplam skor ortalaması 81.83 ±21.51 olduğu belirlenmiştir. Kız öğrencilerin, bölümünü isteyerek seçen öğrencilerin ve anne eğitim düzeyi yüksek olan öğrencilerin ölçek puanlarının anlamlı biçimde yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır (p<0.05). Ayrıca katılımcıların yaşları ile ailenin ekonomik durumuna göre öz etkilik-yeterlik ölçeği puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark olmadığı gözlenmiştir (p>0.05). Sonuç: Araştırma sonuçlarına göre öğrencilerin öz etkilikyeterlik düzeylerinin orta düzeyin üzerinde olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğrencilerin öz etkilik-yeterlik düzeylerinin orta düzeyin üzerinde olduğu ve bu sonucun cinsiyetten, anne eğitim düzeyinden ve bölümünü isteyerek seçme değişkenlerinden etkilendiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
