The ability to effectively use mineral resources is the key to the sustainable development of industry in modern conditions of environmental protection. High-quality bentonites are rarely found in nature, so technologies for improving the quality of clay powders are quite relevant today. The article considers the possibility of improving the quality of clays obtained from candidate quarries for the purpose of further use as components of drilling fluids. The filtration and rheological characteristics of drilling fluids obtained on the basis of activated clay powder were also investigated by Benta Limited Liability Company.
The article highlights the results of research on the content of heavy metals in sod-podzolic soils of oil-contaminated areas of Ivano-Frankivsk region. Contamination of soils with petroleum products causes severe ecological consequences for ecosystems. The aim of the research was to study the peculiarities of the accumulation of heavy metals in the soil, underground part and vegetative mass of sylphia perforated in the conditions of cultivation in oil-contaminated areas. The content of mobile forms of heavy metals in soils did not exceed the norms in all variants of the experiment. During the cultivation of Sylphia perfoliatum, it grew in a number: cadmium → nickel → cobalt → lead. The concentration of heavy metals in the soil was determined, which reflects the change in the content of the element in the test soil relative to the content of metals in the background soil. The coefficients of concentration of mobile forms of heavy metals in oil-contaminated soil for the cultivation of perforated sylphia for the application of fertilizers based on sewage sludge and compost based on them increased in a number: cobalt → lead → nickel → cadmium. Peculiarities of heavy metals accumulation in the vegetative mass of perforated sylphia have been established. Indices of intra-tissue heavy metal contamination of the root system of sylphia perforated with the introduction of sewage sludge increase in the following series: cadmium → nickel → lead → cobalt. The maximum indices of contamination of sylphia roots permeated with cadmium, nickel and cobalt are observed for the introduction into the soil of ERUs at a rate of 40 t / ha and N10P14K58, lead – for the application of compost at a rate of 30 t/ha and N30K55. The lowest indices of intratissue contamination with heavy metals of the roots of sylphia perfoliatum were noted for the application of fertilizer N60P60K60.
Application of sewage sludge (SS) as a fertilizer contributes to the intensity of Zn, Ga, Y, Zr, Rh, Pb uptake by Jerusalem artichoke plants. Also, the translocation coefficients of Zn, Sr, Y, Rh, Pb vary in a wide range of values, depending on the level of use of SS. Jerusalem artichoke culture is characterized by a significant potential for biological absorption of Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, Y, Nb and especially Rh, and the translocation coefficient of all studied heavy metals was ˃1. Jerusalem artichoke is characterized by certain features of intra-tissue pollution by heavy metals under the influence of SS application, which leads to an increase in this indicator compared to the application of mineral fertilizers in an equivalent dose of Zn, Y, Zr, as well as Ni, Cu, Ga, Sr, Nb, Pb in the highest doses (option 6). The use of SS composts with straw in the experiment leads to a significant decrease in intratissue pollution indicators compared to the application of fresh SS. Moreover, increasing the dose of compost from 20 t/ha to 30 t/ha contributes to the reduction of intra-tissue contamination of plants with Cu, Zn, Sr, Zr, Nb, Pb. The highest levels of the Integral indicator of vegetation cover pollution are determined by the application of fresh SS at the SS rate of 40 t/ha + N 10 P 14 K 58 . Jerusalem artichoke culture, given its significant potential for translocation of heavy metals, can be successfully used for phytoremediation of technogenically polluted areas and grown with the introduction of SS as fertilizers.
