Teacher preparation program is routinely making decisions regarding the best pedagogical methods from field experience studies, it can alter students' understandings about academic content and some characteristics through professional practices. Presently, we are entering an educational setting which is known as education 4.0, the technologybased teaching and learning method. It aims to improve the digital technological competencies across all levels and to enhance the use of digital technologies for teaching and learning. This education must help to widen learners' competencies to apply the new technology, which will help the learners to develop in relation to the changes in society. This study was conducted to investigate how the preservice teacher integrated technology in teaching practice. Twenty three preservice English teachers have participated in this research. Data were gathered through observation and document analysis and were analyzed qualitatively. Results indicated that preservice teachers were able to construct and deliver the lesson plan in teaching practice. In addition, over the teaching practice, there was some media technology generated in which it can be used by the preservice teachers in their teaching practicum.
Cross-cultural understanding can facilitate Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) students because they can learn and understand Indonesian culture by reflecting on their own culture. They can easily imagine the concrete forms of the Indonesian language and culture as well as their application in everyday life. The cultural similarities and differences with the target language culture are good intermediaries in learning the language and establishing cooperation. This article aims to describe the extent to which BIPA students are interested in folklore texts through an open questionnaire. Folklore text is one of the media used by teachers in the process of cross-cultural understanding. The students' interest is closely related to the need for teaching materials containing folklore texts as a cross-cultural understanding effort, especially Japanese and Indonesian cultures.
This study aims to examine EFL learners’ perception toward the application of Orai App in CLL method in teaching speaking. The study employed likert-scale questionnaires to enable researchers to collect massive data. The total of 24 first year students of a private university in East Java – Indonesia, comprising of 5 male and 19 female students participated in this study. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistic by finding out the total score per item. The results of this study illustrated that Orai application helps students alleviate the fear of speaking. It can also help students in increasing their speaking ability on the aspects of pronunciation, intonation as well as the speaking speed. Based on the data analysis, CLL method assisted by Orai application is strongly recommended to be used to assist the students to be better speaker.
This study focuses on the didacticism in modern Indonesian short stories. It aims to support the reference for selecting learning materials of literary appreciation, especially those related to didactic values of Indonesian short stories. This study used mixed methods through stages. The first stage was collecting data on Indonesian short stories based on their periodization from any prints and electronic sources.
