This article describes the positive and transforming experience of the 'health education' practice, highlighting the results produced on both educators and the people who participated in the education process. The work took place in 2003 in the city of Manacapuru-Amazonas, and it consisted of educational activities designed for teenagers from a public school of the city The educative activities were based on a methodology for nursing assistance to collective health, using its phases. The results showed, in fact, that health education is essential to the reflection and change of behavior in people's lives. Therefore, health education must be systematically planned and adopted as an important role of the nursing professional.
This article is a theoretical-reflexive study that aims to discuss the development and changes in the quality of healthcare assistance to the patient over the years in Brazil, in light of the policies of control and prevention of Healthcare-associated Infection (HAI). Aspects of HAI and the process of change in health policy in Brazil, as well as the quality of assistance associated with its control, are approached in relation to policies of patient safety. There are various new theoretical and practical proposals created in Brazil. In spite of the difficulty of measuring patient safety, directed to the prevention and control of HAI, we emphasize that to only create policies and establish norms, guidelines, and indicators is not sufficient. If no structural support or conditions exist for interventions in the practices of healthcare professionals, aiming at results in acceptable levels, the control of HAI will not be achieved.
Objective:To search for evidence of the efficiency of sodium hypochlorite on environmental surfaces in reducing contamination and prevention of healthcareassociated infection HAIs. Method: Systematic review in accordance with the Cochrane Collaboration. Results: We analyzed 14 studies, all controlled trials, published between 1989-2013. Most studies resulted in inhibition of microorganism growth. Some decreased infection, microorganism resistance and colonization, loss of efficiency in the presence of dirty and surface-dried viruses. Conclusion: The hypochlorite is an effective disinfectant, however, the issue of the direct relation with the reduction of HAIs remains. The absence of control for confounding variables in the analyzed studies made the metaanalysis performance inadequate. The evaluation of internal validity using CONSORT and TREND was not possible because its contents were not appropriate to laboratory and microbiological studies. As a result, there is an urgent need for developing specific protocol for evaluating such studies.
This article focuses on the implementation of the Family Health Program (FHP) in municipalities (counties)
The objective of this study is to identify the concept that nurses in the Amazon have on alcohol abuse and the forms used for management. Focal group and individual interviews were performed with all nurses of twelve family health teams from a city in the Amazon. It was observed there was a lack of university degrees, continuing education and of support/reference - counter - reference towards the dimension of alcohol use in the studied population. There is need to reform nursing courses and perform continuing education for family health team members, and provide them with the necessary support regarding this important theme and its consequences, for individuals and their families, as well as for the society as a whole.
Descritores: Tecnologia da Informação; Cuidados de Enfermagem; Pandemias; Infecções por Coronavírus.MOBILE TECHNOLOGY FOR NURSING CARE DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC: EXPERIENCE REPORTObjective: To report the experience of nurses in the use of mobile technology for nursing care for users in primary and special care during the COVID-19 pandemic.Methodology: Use the method of systematization of experiments studied by Holliday, which enabled the reflexive reconstruction of the collective experience lived, through five steps for an explanation of the experience. Results: It enabled the development of new tools for monitoring users served by health services through remote technologies that mediate nursing care. Conclusions: The use of mobile technology makes it possible to recover nursing care during a COVID-19 pandemic, the way care can be taken to vulnerable users, without interruption or health compromise in the current epidemiological context in which the disease is in progress full process of propagation and dissemination.
Objectives: to reflect on the principle of equity from the perspective of social justice and its applicability in the dimensions of the nursing work process. Methods: theoretical essay on the challenges for the practice with equity in the dimensions of the Nursing work process: teaching, care, research, political participation and administration. Results: the principle of equity should: in education be transversal in the training of future professionals; in assistance to occur without privilege or discrimination, treating the unequal unequally and the equals equally; in research be the target in the creation of new knowledge; in political participation to count on the contribution of social movements; and in the administration to count on the creation of specific executable policies. Final Considerations: there are still inequalities in access to services by part of the Brazilian population. Nursing should promote in its work process the implementation of equity promotion policies with a view to social justice.
