The dynamic behaviour of the superconductive to normal transition of PbSb alloys subjected to longitudinal external magnetic fields H‖ is investigated experimentally. The experimental data are compared with theoretical results obtained by Pippard and Lifshitz. In the case H‖ ≫ Hc the experimental results are in good agreement with theoretical predictions. For H‖ ≈ Hc, however, an additional dependence of the transition time on the transport current is observed.
The dynamic behaviour of the superconductive to normal transition of PbIn alloys subjected to longitudinal external magnetic fields H∥ is investigated experimentally. The experimental data are compared with theoretical results of a electrodynamic theory obtained by Pippard and Lifshitz for type I superconductors. In the case H∥ » H∥ c the experimental results for type I and also for type II samples are in good agreement with the slightly modified electrodynamic theory. In the case H∥ ≈ H∥ c, however, this theory is not valid for both types and moreover an additional dependence of the transition time on the transport current is observed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
