Dynamic Destruction of Superconductivity in Pb–n% Sb Alloys

Abstract

The dynamic behaviour of the superconductive to normal transition of PbSb alloys subjected to longitudinal external magnetic fields H‖ is investigated experimentally. The experimental data are compared with theoretical results obtained by Pippard and Lifshitz. In the case H‖ ≫ Hc the experimental results are in good agreement with theoretical predictions. For H‖ ≈ Hc, however, an additional dependence of the transition time on the transport current is observed.
