Chronic administration of L-NAME to pregnant rats is associated with significant morphologic changes of the uteroplacental vasculature. The L-NAME-induced pathologic alterations resulted in decreased litter size and increased number of resorption sites that may be contributed to diminished uteroplacental perfusion.
