Aufgrund ihrer relativ hohen Oxidationsstabilitat und ihres giinstigen Stockpunktverhaltens besitzen sie ein breites Anwendungspotential z. B. in den Bereichen Kosmetik, Textilhilfsmittel oder Erdolgewinnung. Naturliche Fette und Ole enthalten aber haufig mehrfach ungesattigte Fettsluren wie z. B. Linol-oder Linolenshre, die auch schon in geringen Anteilen das physikalische und chemische Verhalten der Fettstoffe wesentlich verandern konnen. Es werden deshalb Verfahren gesucht, die mehrfach ungesattigten Fettsauren selektiv in die einfach ungesattigten Fettsauren zu uberfuhren. ohne aber vollstandig gesattigte Fettshuren zu erhalten. Nach einem Uberblick iiber die generellen Moglichkeiten der selektiven Hartung wird ein neues Hydrierverfahren mit Solvens-stabilisierten Palladiumkolloid-Katalysatoren vorgestellt. Es zeichnet sich durch eine auflergewohnlich hohe Selektivitat aus und arbeitet bei milden Reaktionsbedingungen. Durch Anwendung der Flussig-Flussig-Zweiphasentechnik ist eine einfache Katalysatorruekfuhrung gewahrleistet.
Die katalytische Hydrierung ungesattigter Verbindungen ist eine der altesten und am besten untersuchten Katalysereaktionen. Industriell werden uberwiegend heterogene Katalysatoren wie z. B. Tragerkatalysatoren (Palladium auf Aktivkohle), Skelettkatalysatoren (Raney-Nickel) oder Metalloxidkatalysatoren (Kupferchromoxid) verwendet. Seit 1938 ist durch Arbeiten von M. Calvin auch die homogenkatalysierte Hydrierung bekannt . Wahrend die vollstandige Hydrierung einer oder mehrerer C-C-Mehrfachbindungen in der Regel kein Problem darstellt und durch geeignete Auswahl des Katalysators und der Reaktionsbedingungen gelost werden kann, ist die selektive Hydrierung ungesattigter Verbindungen, z. B. von Dienen zu Monoenen oder von Alkinen zu Alkenen, weiterhin problematisch. Mit den meisten Katalysatoren kann zwar bei der Hydrierung von Dienen zu Monoenen [ 1-71 der gewunschte ,,Hydriergrad" erreicht werden, das Produktgemisch enthalt aber oftmals noch grobere Anteile des Diens und schon betraehtliche Anteile des unerwunschten Alkans. Da sich die physikalischen Eigenschaften der Alkane deutlich von denen der Alkene unterscheiden, konnen auch schon geringe Alkan-Beimengungen die Produkteigenschaften des Gemisches (2.B. den Schmelz-oder Trubungspunkt) sehr ungiinstig beeinflussen. iihnliche Beobachtungen gelten fur die selektive Hydrierung von Alkinen zu Alkenen unter Vermeidung der Bildung von Alkanen [6-121. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird ein neues Katalysatorsystem vorgestellt , das sich durch auBergewohnliche Selektivitat bei der Hydrierung von Dienen und Alkinen auszeichnet. Alkohole sind haufig envunschte Zielprodukte der heterogen katalysierten Reaktion von Wasserstoff mit Kohlenmonoxid und mit technisch wichtigen organischen Substraten, die die C=O-Gruppe enthalten (Carbonsauren und Ester, 0x0-Aldehyde, Ketone). In diesen Fallen mussen sowohl Katalysator als auch Reaktionsbedingungen sorgfaltig ausgewahlt werden, um die gewunschte Verbindung mit hoher Selektivitat zu erhalten. So * Dr. rer. nat. l?
