The crystal structure of MnGalnS, has been determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data and refined to R = 0.029 (R,= 0.033). It crystallizes rhombohedrally in the Znln,S,(llla)-type (space group R3m). Manganese and indium are distributed nearly statistically over the octahedral sites and one tetrahedral site. The second tetrahedral site is occupied by gallium. In the quasiternary system MnS-Ga,S,-In&, MnGalnS, exhibits a large region of homogeneity with regard to the ratio Ga: In as well as to the ratio Mn: (Ga+ In).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
