Basis of strong change of hybridizationinduced magnetic ordering between CeSb and CeTeNeutron diffraction studies of the modulated magnetic structures of CeSb and Nd metal (invited)The magnetic excitation spectrum of ferromagnetic CeSb has been studied by neutron inelastic scattering at 4.2 K and 41.7 kOe for wave vectors along the < 100> and < 110 > directions. Two dispersion branches have been resolved and analyzed in terms of crystal-field, bilinear and quadrupolar pair interactions. We find that the quadrupolar coupling is the dominant interaction and the bilinear exchange exhibits a strong directional anisotropy.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
