A native oophagous parasite of Prays oleae belonging to the genus Trichogramma, has been reported for the first time in 1962 from Rovies, Evia, Greece. It has also been observed on eggs of Hylesinus oleiperda, Prays oleae and Palpita unionalis in Yugoslavia.
The reaction of adult Aelia rostrata Boh. and Eurygaster maura (L.) (Heteroptera, Pentatomidae) to changes of temperature
The reaction of the two Pentatomid species to changes of temperature was studied using the consumption of oxygen of these insects. It ist weak during hibernation, increasing shortly before their migration to the fields of wheat, and even doubling before egg deposition. During three years of investigation these reactions took place at approximately the same dates, in spite of climatic differences between the years.
Upon experimental changes of temperature (from 10°C to 40 °C) the insects reacted by a reduction of overall activity. This homoeostatic reaction took place spontaneously and instantaneously. It was more important with hibernating insects than with such in full activity.
